Pamster. How was the day trip?

Dear Pam,
How are you and how did things go?
I hope that you feel ok about things.

It was pretty good as far as his behavior, I got to enjoy the service, he took his first communion and I had it too, very comforting, and then at the reception he was great for a good stretch until he got impatient waiting on a bananna. He dropped his pants and pulled his underwear down and I scrambled to get his drawers back up!

I was mortified this table of old women laughed at him! I mean I know it was cute but still, there I was, shocked and embarrassed, took him BACK to our table (this was at a lovely country club for the reception) and whispered to Jack and he said, "Why you let him do that?" Oh I could have spit fire. But I calmed down fast and Jackie managed to keep his pants on for the rest of the evening.

I had so much anxiety there on the way down and the way home it wasn't funny, it was raining sometimes pretty hard rain too. But Jack drove and it was nice. So all in all I do feel pretty good about how it went. It was funny someone in the family told me they were praying jackie would say something like "This sucks" during the extra long service, but he didn't, he DID sing though way off key but everyone thought he was charming and he was. :) (Except for wanting to show off his crotch that is....)

I'm sorry I didn't post, I should have started a new thread but I am still recovering from being on display like that. I was the only one there in a chair and am glad it's all over and done with now. I am glad we went too, Jackie just loved being around so many people, he had a great time I think, and it was good Jack was able to have us both there with him when he needed us during the service. :)

How was your weekend Mari? I hope you are feeling well. Thanks for caring about us, it makes me feel so good to know I have friends who I matter to. :D

Dear Pam,

I find that being around family can be healing in part because it is validating. I missed a big family funeral last week because it was on the other side of the country. They managed without me of course, but I missed being with them.

I'm glad that you found the service comforting. And that is good that Jackie was mostly on his good behavior. ( And it seems that his not-so-good behavior was within range of what the others could tolerate.)

This is why family can be good sometimes. I like a good sport that can make jokes at funerals.

Yes, rains and thunderstorms have started. Sometimes I find comfort in them. The dry weather in the winter feels off, like the weather went away and left us or something.

Still, I have spoken with the folks in charge and requested a quiet summer as far as hurricanes go. :D
A quiet summer for all of us http://www.thesmilies.com/smilies/ro.../heartbeat.gif.

Oh pamster that is quite a story about Jackie...lol
It sounds like you had a nice time for the most part and were there to support Jack.
Which was really important too.
Now maybe he will consider that trike?

mari, thanks for talking to those in charge....decreased hurricane activity would be lovely.

I sure hope so, because the state is dragging its feet still and we're not sure we can get a decent one from them, they want to pay as little as possible when the budget is there to cover a nicer trike. I don't understand them. It strikes me that they should want to get him a better bike since the funds are there so it will last him longer. But that's doesn't seem to be the case. Oh well, we'll see what happens. :)

Yeah I was really glad we were both able to be there for Jack, they looked like twins with their white shirts and ties. It was really cool. I hope that things chill out around here soon. :)
