Going to hosp. on Tues.

*lol* I don't know if today is getting better or worse. I have been dealing with low blood pressure/high pulse for weeks and finally saw a doctor today. She took my BP/pulse while lying down.. 106/75 and a pulse of 84.. .to my BP dropping and pulse rising when I stand up to 85/58 and a pulse of 120.

Needless to say..my heart is working hard for some reason to bring my BP up and the doctor doesn't know why *lol*, my mom called me a hypochondriac.. like I can just change my BP/pulse at will (she really did say it's all in my head)

The doctor gave me some FLUDRICORTISONE that I can take tomorrow morning, guess it's supposed to open my arteries up. On Tuesday, I go to the hosp. for an Echo. I already had blood drawn and will have more drawn then. My Neuro is out till the middle of next week, not that he was a help because I waited 1 1/2 weeks for a response when I first had symptoms.. my PCP was Not happy today with that *lol*

Soooo.. just more drama in my life.. if I donate my body to science when I pass on..they are going to have a fieldday! But, I would much rather this ALL happening to me than my boys.

I did IM my little brother today about my symptoms and he's having weird heart things as well but not at home in Mass, he's in Vegas for the summer. I told him NOT to mess around with his heart. Sometimes I just feel like Life is just continuing to Bend Me Over!

I'm so sorry Monique. :( I hope it turns out to be something minor. It's good you're getting the echo done. I had one done before and they aren't difficult that I recall. The cardio doc back then said something about a slight leakiness but that it wasn't serious.

sorry monique,

these little blips in our physical radar are stressful and upsetting.
at least your pcp is taking you seriously and doing the right things for you.

please keep us posted. i've had an echo and it's nothing to sweat over.
just waiting for the results will be.

but us MS folks sure learn how to be patient.

Hi Monique,

I am soooo sorry this is happening to you, but I am glad you have an attentive doctor that is doing something for you.

It is not fun being a mom, having MS and being more sick. Give yourself a break when you can. Only you can take of you.

SallyC 06-27-2008 06:28 PM

I've heard that this kind of thing can be MS related..

I'm glad your Doc is taking you seriously.

Let us know, when you do and feel better..

((((((Monique))))))) As if having MS isn't enough, some other "strange" thing has to come along. :( I'm glad your pcp at least listened to you and took you seriously. Good grief -- it's your heart for crying out loud!! Last July 4th, I was in the hospital for a similar thing which turned out to be atrial fibrillation. My heart kept racing, couldn't take a deep breath, light-headed when I moved, etc. It corrected itself but now I have to take Warfarin, a blood thinner, for the rest of my life. Apparently if it happens too often, a stroke might occur. The "bloodsuckers" come to my house about every three weeks to check the Coumadin level. Mine is usually low.

Good luck with finding some answers and be sure to keep us posted. My heart goes out to you and all the other Moms with young children on this board. I don't know how you cope!!! Mine were grown by the time this dreadful disease really became active. Take care............
