New From CT

Hello, I am here on behalf of my 51 year old sister, who has secondary progressive MS with significant dementia. She has been living alone, but is currently in rehab following major surgery. I've been told that she can't be safely released to her home, but that there's no place (that accepts Medicaid) that is the right fit for someone like her.

So I guess I'm here for support, especially if I end up as her conservator.

Hi there and welcome from another with MS.

I'm so sorry to hear that your sister has both MS and Dementia. That must be really hard on you. NeuroTalk is a great place to get support, or even just to let off steam.

You'll find we have a very active MS Forum here, so come on over and get to know us. Here's the direct link that'll take you there: http://neurotalk.psychcentral.com/forum17.html

There's another for Dementia, and you'll find it at this link that follows: http://neurotalk.psychcentral.com/forum97.html

Hi and welcome to NeuroTalk! So glad you joined us! I have MS, too, and there is a very large MS community here at NeuroTalk. Please join us in the MS Forum - I'm sure there are others who are dealing with or have dealt with similar circumstances as you are.

Your sister is fortunate to have you as her advocate. She's very young to have such problems. I truly hope things work out well for the both of you.
