I don't wanna

(stomping feet) I don't wanna go outside, I don't wanna do the things on my list, I don't wanna take a shower, I don't wanna talk on the phone, I don't wanna answer the door, I don't wanna answer some of my emails (just some), I don't wanna be nice. So there.

OK, I'm done now.

I just wait till I wanna then. . . and not a moment sooner (those days come too).

Amazing how life goes on in spite of that. ;)

Are you 50 yet? After you turn 50, you don't have to do ANYTHING that you don't wanna, until and unless you wanna.

That is a rule I discovered when I turned 50. It applies, by natural law, to everyone over 50.

If you are not yet 50, the rule can also apply to you by my special legal dispensation. I hereby grant that dispensation in perpetuity to anyone reading this message who places a proper request for it. The request consists of saying to yourself three times, "I don't wanna!"

There. Now, no one here has to do anything they don't wanna!

If anyone in your life doesn't like my law, tell them to sue me.

This natural law (for those over 50) and Nancy's special dispensation (for those under 50) are based on principles of personal and public health. Health is increased by not doing anything you don't wanna.

 Me neither!

Confession time: I've even skipped church since May because they are meeting in the old building while they update/renovate the "new" one. The old one has no...I repeat NO A/C or fans! Not good when heat gives the "MonSter" its power over me.

I don't wanna either sometimes. It happens. Sometimes you just need to take it easy, who knows why, but it does happen. I am in the over 50 crowd and a single mom. Sometimes days are nonstop, and sometimes you just have to stop.

Maybe tomorrow will be a better day for you. If not, then the next day!

It was a really crummy day down here in big apple country! Just so sad and somber!!! If you had this weather up there, I can't say I blame you!!

Me neither. But I thought I might have started to become lazy. But really it is because it all makes me so exhausted and in pain and sometimes I JUST DON'T WANNA.

whew thanks for lettting me get that out.

Literally laughing out loud! :D

Haha! Blessings, why don't we make up some "Sorry, can't make it" cards using some of NancyT's legalese? That would really do the trick to help folks understand!

Maybe we could even simplify by adding possible reasons with a box next to each that we could just checkmark:
  • Can't make it cause something has come up: my naptime!
  • Can't make it cause I'm low on spoons that day.
  • Can't make it cause I broke a nail and have a manicure appt.
  • Can't make it because of a family illness: MINE!!!
  • Can't make it CAUSE I DON'T WANNA!

I looove the checkbox-on-the-card, Rochelle! That would make it so easy and so official. Show firmness and (hopefully) get laughs at the same time.

I mean, that's SERIOUSLY a REALLY good idea.

I especially like the "something has come up: my naptime!"
