OT Son in law home from Iraq!!!!!!

He is in the National guard, they come in tomorrow morning. Right now they are at Camp Atterbury for their demobization,m whatever that is. They got married in June and he left in October, so they are still newlyweds. I guess I'll get a quick hug and kiss tomorrow then see them both in about 3 days;)

I'm so happy for you and DD, Doydie.<jumping up and down:D >

My SSon and his SO, Dawn, are still over there. He is semi safe, in Kuait, but she (in Army) is right in the middle of things, in Iraq. I worry about them constantly. It's just not a safe place to be.

Enjoy your time (however short:p ) with them and then a big sigh of relief....He's home....WooHoo!

I will continue to pray for all of them over there. My son in law is one of three in their group that will get a purple heart. It wasn't a serious injury. I'm glad he was in the guard and his stint was short. Do you get to talk to your son and his SO?

Thanks Doydie and all, they need all the prayers we've got.:)

Yes, I hear from Son Chris. He calls and we also keep in touch by E-Mail. I don't have a way yet to reach Dawn, but getting her e-mail add. soon. I would really feel better, if I heard from her.

Hugs,

I am so glad to hear your loved ones made it home safely....my son came home from Iraq last sept and I could breathe again!
I had the hardest year of my life but I fear the experience has changed him forever and that makes me so sad. He is withdrawn from us and I still miss my son.
Anyway I wanted to let those of you that don't know about know about Motomail! Go to motomail.com and put in your military person's info and then you can write them online and it will be hand delivered to them within 24 hours. I was thrilled to find it...I was able to keep him updated daily with very little time...no stamps and its free for anyone stationed in Iraq! He is in marines reserves and has 3 years left to serve!

Aww, Junie, I'm so sorry to hear that the war has changed your Son. Could he be suffering from PTSD? I hope he is seeing someone about this, for his sake and yours.:(

Thank you for the link to Motomail, I didn't know that it existed. I will look into that right away.:)

I do hope your Son feels better soon. That is an awful thing to put our children through. It's not what we had envisioned, when we were raising them to be men and women.

Hugs,

I was so glad to hear Dan talk of nothing but Iraq today at lunch. They weren't really bad things, just talking. I guess the worst thing was that my daughter bought their first house right before he came home. Apartment lease was running out, she couldn't wait. They can only afford a starter home, but she was very proud of what she got and how she had started to fix it up. He was disappointed, thought it would be bigger. The went from a nice apartment with large bedroom and closets to a small old starter home which as you all know, have small closets. So that was a downer.

He will get used to it. One of her main concerns was that it would have a fenced in yard for their dog. So they will all enjoy that. And it has a wonderful large screened in front porch with a porch swing.

So glad that he's back safe and sound. I pray for all of them over there.
