Words Worth Quoting

lets share some words of wisdom :grouphug:

one of my favorites from RBC's Our Daily Bread:

When Life brings you to your knees you're in a good position to pray:Bow:

and one from my Mom
You often accomplish a lot more talking to God about people than talking to people about God

and my pastor
God calls us to be His witnesses, not his lawyers or judges

I get a daily e-mail each morning (I have for about 6 years) from God's Minute. It is a daily devotional, with lots wonderful uplifting messages. These are a few of the quotes I have recieved and kept:

Wisdom has two parts 1) Having a lot to say 2) Not saying it

God promises a safe landing, not a calm passage

He who angers you, controls you

The work will wait while you look at the rainbow, but the rainbow will not wait while you work

Prayer- Don't give God instructions, just report for duty

Gods approach to us has never changed. God is trying to teach us how to have a relationship with him and get right with each other.

Love means service. Love is shown in actions.

We are rich only through what we give.

quotes about forgiveness -

I have hurt many people - so I need to forgive better.
so this is for me especially...

Be angry, and yet do not sin; do not let the sun go down on your anger. [Ephesians 4:26]

~ Bible ~

My dear brothers, take note of this: Everyone should be quick to listen, slow to speak and slow to become angry, for man's anger does not bring about the righteous life that God desires. [James 1:19-20]

~ Bible ~

Anger begins with folly, and ends with repentance.

~ H. G. Bohn ~

Never go to bed angry, stay up and fight.

~ Phyllis Diller ~ ;)

from today's Daily Bread from RBC

Quote:

A careless word may kindle strife,
A cruel word may wreck a life,
A timely word may lessen stress,
A loving word may heal and bless. —Anon.

It is better to bite your tongue than to let it bite someone else.

When life gets rough, I remember what my father told me one brutally cold morning when I was a kid. We were walking in the woods through deep snow and I told him I couldn't go any further. He said "Yes you can - you have a lot of spirit," and he kept on walking. When I complained of pain and exhaustion from the cold, he said with a big smile "Isn't it great? It means you're alive." :D

Thanks Dad. Maybe it's not such a bad thing to be reminded on occasion that being alive is truly a gift from God - even when you're shivering from the cold in the middle of July.

I love all of these!
Just wish I was better at some of them! LOL!

One I like personally;
"I would rather live my life as if there were a God,
and die to find out there isn't,
then to live my life as if there isn't,
and die to find out there is."

Hugs,
Jenni

lots of really nice ones "never go to bed angry", my MIL told me and deb the day we married

i have always felt do unto others as you would have them do unto you, covers a lot, taking the time to think would i like this or if someone does this or that, would i like that, reflecting on that before you make your decisions, is a good way to live a life
