Weekly Check-In July 13-19, 2008

Hello Everyone..Not much to report this week..The weather is nice, and I got out fishing 3 days this week..I pulled my conch pots yesterday and dug steamer clams today, and Im pretty beat up, but Im doing alright, actually feeling better tonight..I really wish I had half the stamina that I had before..Im just gonna keep on trying my best

The pressure on my chest that was bothering me a few weeks ago has seemed to have passed, most of it anyway, and so has most of the dystonia..I have often wondered why some symptoms arent as bad as they were after a while..My right leg has improved quite a bit from what it was two years ago, and because of that my gait has improved when Im not fatigued..But of course new symptoms show up to replace the ones that arent as bad as they were

My brother has been working out in the yard trimming stuff back..That is a never ending battle around here

How was your week?

Hi Steve,

I'm glad to hear that you're still out there in the sun and got a few good days in. You have the right idea of getting outside and enjoying the nice weather while you can.

I'm going through some changes right now, I think. My tight med schedule doesn't seem to be working the way it did back a few months ago. I now wake up stiff when I didn't before, and now also get some nasty cramping in my hands just before my next round of medication. I've also been sleeping more and more during the weekends which sucks really because there's so much to do with so little time. It's not like I'm depressed and am escapiing. I'm just in need of so real sleep because I feel weak and dizzy so I lay down for a catnap which turns into 4 - 5 hours of an afternoon. When I wake up, I'm okay for a few hours, and then need to sleep again. Today, Monday, and I'm dragging along but have to deal with it because I'm at work.

Other than that, I'm still playing the piano the best I can. This is the best form of exercise for the hands as it keeps the fingers mobile, otherwise I'd have nothing but tight fists. I'm also sticking to my school schedule. I have about 10 classes left and I'm counting them down like the seconds before a rocket blast off.

John
