Men and Women feel pain diffrently.

This may explain some of those male doctors who just haven got a clue about the pain we are going through, perhaps it is because he literaly cannot comprehend a pain that does not end.

http://www.telegraph.co.uk/news/2304...different.html

There are actualy two diffrent kinds of brains you see male brains and female brains. (sheesh and it took them this long to figgure it out?)
Male brains create endorphins to counteract pain that works to lesser or greater degree's, women's brains.. indeed female vertabrates in general do not (can not) create endorphins to reduce or eliminate pain.

Research has habitualy been done on male specimins brains over the years, where are the pain pathways through the female brain?? is going to be a hot topic me thinks..

QUOTE:
Men have a pain-suppressing circuit which links their brain to their spinal cord. When the circuit is activated by pain, endorphins are released and help lessen the feeling.
However, new studies have shown that the circuit does not release the analgesic endorphins in women.
~~~
The discovery could have an impact for how pain and illnesses in women are treated. Most of what is currently known about the brain comes from studies of male animals and male human volunteers.
A report, published in the New Scientist today, said: "If even a small proportion of what has been inferred from these studies does not apply to females, it means a huge body of research has been built on shaky foundations.
END QUOTE.
This is huge as far as fibromialgia and alot of other women domanent pain conditions that are running rampant these days.. Womens pain issues are rising every day and I hold out alot of new hope now that they can find some answers.
Be well,
Sandra
hm
This is related somewhat and is VERY interesting as well.
"Gender and sex hormones affect the brain's pain response and more, according to new studies"
And here: http://www.sciencedaily.com/releases...1105064626.htm explains how the reason for the two different brain responses probibly date back to primitive days.
