Stacie,

I tend to keep mine low. The programs are also on the low side. The best way I can explain it is that if you are in a car and a car near you has the base turned way up. It's that and the feeling the I have a cell phone on vibrate. The lower the programs, the longer you can go between battery charges. The high pitched programes cause more pain and discomfort. I hope that helps. Where do you keep yours?

Hugs
Mary

Stacie,

I have an older SCS with limited programming. But, I turn it up until it starts to be really noticeable, then back down just a "tad". Depending on where your leads are installed, you may also find, as I do, that what works well in a sitting position is really bothersome when I lay down. Standing requires a bit less than sitting, but not as low as while in bed.

I just had the trial

Hi Stacie,

I just had the trial for a SCS as I received RSD in my arm from surgery.

I also had Medtronic. I had mine set very low at 1.0 or so. Maybe 1.1. I also had the vibration set very high at 90. I didn't like the thumping vibration.

But, my pain doctor told me that when leads are in your neck (cervical area) the tendency is to have them set pretty low.

Hope that helps.

Wow! I guess compared to what you guys have, mine is like driving a Model T. Mine is a Medtronic, the latest-greatest model they had back in 2003. But I have no numbers and can't control the frequency, only the intensity (unless I partially dis-assemble it and make adjustments.)

If I ever decide to get it replaced, I can see they have improved. I hope they also made them smaller. Mine is like a pack of cigarettes.

Mike
