I Had 144.......

I Had 144 Sympathetic Nerve Blocks, I Was Getting Them Once A Week Then It Became Ineffective So I Was Going 2 Or 3 Times A Week. However In The Begininning They Worked Amazingly And Life Was Good Then I Got A Scs So Didnt Hae To Do The Blocks 2or 3 Times A Week For The Rest Of My Life. However I Would Definately Say You Should Give It A Try. It Couldnt Hurt 2 Try Sumthing New. The Dr You Would See Is A Pain Management Dr And You Can Find One In Your Area By Looking On The Internet Or The Phonebook Or Ask If Anyone Lives Somewhat Close By Or However U Want 2 Do It. The Only Thing Else I Can Think Of Is Take Your Time Finding A Dr And Make Sure You Like Them. But U Already Kno That I Am Sure. I Wish U The Very Best Of Luck And Keep Me Updated Please!!!

but would you say it was worth it in the begining .. im at the point where the smallest amount of relife would be so amazing im at the end of my stand .. ive been going to a pain doc but its though the childerns hosp. so they really want me to just "work though the pain" and crap like that but what i really need is some .. anything to make me feel better i dont no how much longer i can do this

I Would Definately Say It Was Worth In The Beginnig!! Cuz I Was At The Same Point As U R Now Dear!! Id Say Ask Your Pain Doc Bout Them And Let The Dr Kno That This Is What U Want He Cant Refuse It To U Unless It Would B Bad For You And I Definately Dont Think It Would B A Bad Thing To Try. If You Have Any Other ?'s Please Ask Im Online Alla The Time. Good Luck Dear And Let Me Kno How Everything Works Out

Hi,
I'm sorry to hear that the PT program didn't help you:hug:
I have only had 1 sympathetic nerve block - I had the block done the day after I was diagnosed with RSD by a Pain Management Doctor. My Doctor injected directly into my left leg which has RSD and I developed complications from the block - it was only after I had the nerve block that we found out that you SHOULDN'T have a nerve block directly into the site that has RSD. I hope I didn't scare you, I just don't want you to have a block into the site that has RSD like I did and then suffer from complications.
I have heard many people say that nerve blocks are really good and effective if the RSD is caught early enough - I was told that the best chance of the nerve block working is if you are diagnosed with RSD within 3 months. Most nerve blocks are done by Pain Management Doctors usually in their office, although because of my age I was given the nerve block whilst under general anasthetic.
I wish you the very best of luck!!
Alison

sorry to hear the program did not work for you. Your newest idea to help your RSD is by far the worst choice you could make. Nerve Blocks are the worst thing for teens with rsd. I had one back in 2003 for my RSD in my left foot and instead of helping it just made everything worse if i could do anything i would go back and stop myself from ever having it. And i am not alone in this many teens that have them will tell you the same, Nerves blocks do not make RSD better it makes it worse. Now for adults with RSD this becomes a totally differnt story. Because nerve blocks usually work for them.

I am going on to the treatment Dr. Swartzman suggests called the Ketamine Coma or you can go try the oxygen treatment or Hbot that alot of people have suggested.
