Cog fog?? or something else?
Good morning all, it's been a while since i have been on here, but i haven't felt too bad lately honestly.. I just have a question for you all if you wouldn't mind getting back to me. This morning I was driving my boyfriend to work before I myself headed to my job and I was driving like I had never driven a car in my life. It honestly freaked me out considering I live in Tampa, Fl and traffic is not a walk in the park. I don't know how many times I misjudged my distance or turned irratically... I ended up having to call into work and explain that I just couldn't drive today. (thank God someone I used to work with works there so I could explain to her and she wouldn't think I was crazy). I just feel very strange today, like i have been drugged or something. I have no concentration whatso ever. Anyone ever had this problem?

Oh, yes...you are not alone.

Yes.....cog fog. I have that often. Some days I feel like a visitor in my own body. It's a very unsettling feeling and I'm always grateful when it passes. I'm glad you called work and didn't drive. On days when it's bad I just stay at home and rest - that seems to help. Otherwise, I just get myself in a tizz and it takes longer to recover. You're not alone.

 I've had days like that too. It's creepy when you realize that the info and concentration you need for driving can get haywired as it goes into your brain.
It's been hard, but I've learned which days I simply cannot in all good conscious be behind the wheel. Not fun, but I'd rather play it safe. I've also learned that I cannot always have the radio on, and definitely no talk radio at all. Some days I can drive fine, as long as it's the only thing I'm concentrating on. So no tunes going down the road. The joy of not being able to multi task some times. I also never, never pick up my cell phone in the car. If someone calls, I find a place like a parking lot to check and see who called. If it can't wait, I call them back. |

You are definitely not alone. Cog for has been a recent addition to my line of sx and it sucks. I also just rest and rest. You were very smart to stay home from work. Find a soft comfy spot and relax. Hope you feel better soon.'s |
Hey Chaz18...You said this......And its something I deal with everyday
I don't know how many times I misjudged my distance or turned erratically... That almost by itself has taken the wheel from me......It sounds as if you depth perception was off.....That has been one of the firsts things to go and stay gone with me......As of today...I have driven once in about a year.. For me it started when I looked quickly to the mirror than back. to the road.....2 things happen...1 I got vertigo.....2- what I was seeing I could not properly judge the distance......Everything was a nightmare. This happens much with me...Unfortunately......... If you are behind the wheel...Be Careful.......Hopefully this is like a one shot deal for you and will never bother you again.....I pray.... pete |
