The only thing that helps me is medication and time to just suppress the fear. I am sorry you're suffering phobias too along with anxiety BF, it's awful. :(

i have slight agoraphobia and an insane, dizzying fear of biohazard sharps containers/dirty needles, i also have a phobia of having panic attacks. i think of things and how badly i dont want to have one then i can feel myself starting to have one and then it gets worse and I cant even think straight and its the worst feeling in the world.

where could I go for CBT?

I certainly understand everything that you said. I have had dozens, and dozens of these phobias. I have conquered many of them, and some of them disappeared on the road of life. I'm on medication, and that helps also.

Fear is torment, and unpleasent sensations, and head trips.

I went to this Phobia Clinic a long time ago,and we did what we fear with caution. That was helpful. BF

There needs to be a PHOBIA FORUM. Someone please bring this into being. Brokenfriend

For me I had to challenge the fears to see nothing "bad" happened or I could get through. Not things that are true dangers but for ex social event making myself go. As I saw nothing happened or I could get through things I began to become more flexible. I used to say I would walk the same way and same steps every day so I knew nothing would happen so to speak. I see now rationally it made no sense but at the time it seemed like the solution. The less you do the smaller your world becomes but as you see there is so much more out there it will make life more fufilled. I am not saying this is easy because trust me many breakdowns and like I said in my other response hospitlizations but I also know it can get better cause it did for me.

Does anyone know if hypnosis is any good for phobias? Has anyone tried it or knows anyone that has?

I would wonder if it would be something that is too deep seated psychologically and also because there are chemical processes involving the brain that are also included.

You are right Brokenfriend, but I am too new here and wouldn't know where to ask, at least right at this moment lol.

Well okay here is where you can ask
