doctor in los angeles, southbay, please?

i've recently moved here and have had rsd for 12 years. i need to find a neurologist or pain specialist who is very familiar with rsd please.

Yep , Dr Edward Carden in Marina Del rey...rsd specialist and author.

Another great neuro and pain management guy is Dr Sheldon Jordan in Santa Monica on Wlishire Blvd. Dont have his number but call directory assistance. Don't know if he treats a lot of RSD patients though

THE UCLA pain management guys ...eh, not that good.

But I believe fmichael has a doc at USC that he swears by.

I would be that RSD guy, and here's my doctor at U.S.C., of whom I think the world:
Steven Richeimer, M.D.
Chief of Pain Medicine, Keck School of Medicine
University of Southern California
Director, U.S.C. Pain Management Center
1520 San Pablo Street, Suite 3450
Los Angeles CA 90033
323-442-6202
323-442-6255 (fax)
Not exactly geographically convenient from the South Bay, I grant you, but I found that coming initially from Santa Monica with mid to late morning appointments the traffic was never very bad. (But avoid late afternoon appointments at all costs.)

I thought it was you fmichael! But my brain is gone today and I needed to go back and reread my pm's to make sure. :)

Doc inLA...

Dr. Joshua Prager is a good PM guy. He's in Westwood:

310-264-7246
100 UCLA Medical Plaza
Ste. 760
LA 90095

You can't refer yourself for an appointment. You're current doctor will have to send over records/report, and then they'll call you. The initial consult is $650. You pay as you go, and then get reimbursed by your insurance company.

He's really experienced in all RSD treatments (we're starting ketamine infusions next week...)

Good luck.

Just wanted to clarify. When I said the UCLA docs not that great, I meant at the Santa Monica location and the ones on staff.

Dr Prager is great! And though he practices on the UCLA campus he is actually in private practice and not part of the othe UCLA pain management office.

I couldn't agree with you more about UCLA in Santa Monica.

My experience with their Pain Mgnt. clinic was a disaster. Very shabby, unsophisticated treatment. Stay far away...

I'd pass on Sheldon Jordan.
I too am a fan Of Dr Richeimer.
He is very thorough .Dr Jordan is not .

Peace
