Epidural Catheter?

I had posted about this a year ago and decided to wait. I went back to the same place but different pain doc at Cleveland Clinic who before the scs though I need the epidural catheter and then pt twice a day for month or six weeks. After to be able to continue pt at a lower level. That I have increased my walking on my own but it is not enough cause I need to strength train and do range of motion which I just can't do from pain no way.The walking is still hard but I am building time on my morning walk and during the day able to do more but in pain.My issue is inner ankle /foot/calf and also spread to less degree to other leg Has anyone found help from this or did you still need further treatments like a scs? Thanks

i had the epidural catheter..........

and it helped me tremendously........i had it in for six weeks.........no bathing, bending, lifting, etc....but it gave me what i refer to as the closest thing to remission i can be.........it was well worth it...................my rsd is in my right ankle/ leg........

my husband however, also had rsd, but his is upper and he went through the catheter, for several weeks, and as soon as the line was removed, it all came back with a vengence...he has since had the scs implanted, and that is a whole new chapter...........he loves the scs, he has the use of his left arm again, somewhat limited, but usable........... but his pain levels are still high. he says he is glad to have the scs.......he has had it a year...............

Thanks. I think the pain doc wants to do the catheter as a starting point before a possible scs that the ucla doc wanted. What I fear is that when the catheter comes out after twice a day pt I will feel the back lash. I often have delayed pain as well as current.May I ask now what your treatment is or did the cather get you more stable on your own? Do you go to pt or did you with the catheter? The doc said for me the pt is a must for the range of motion and strength training. I have increase my walking on my own but that is not enough to help with the pain. Thanks for your response. I hope you feel better and your husband too.
