Fighting the VA? SSDI? Wanna know a secret?
 

I have been told by a person who is fairly high up in the VA that some states are easier to get claims approved in. Wouldn't you like to know?

I asked for the VA to make a list of every employee who is a Ratings Specialist. Nationwide.
Look to see who refuses the most claims, vs the number of approvals. They said no.

The pressure on these people is horrendous. CLOSE CASES NOW!!!!!!! My daughter works for the VA, she tells me how it goes. I worked for the State of California investigating fraud. I had the same pressures. There are not really too many "bad people" here. It is life. The public yells that the VA is (make up a time frame if you want) a year behind, the SSDI people are 2 years or 3 years behind, so mgt tells their people to CLOSE CASES NOW. Get them out the door. I saw it in my job. You can have a quality investigation or you can have a fast one. It is probably one in a thousand that allows both.

It is so easy for the Ratings Specialists to stamp NO on a file, then let the appeals people fight the battle. I don't think the majority of the federal employees do this, but I would bet
major bucks that they have more than they realize doing it.

All I needed was a hearing test to confirm what my Flight Physicals confirmed. I have TWO VA facilities within ten miles of my house. The test would have been easy. The VA clerk
stamped no and was done with it. How about YOUR claim? Or you parents? Children?

If you would write, call, email your representatives .... asking for an investigation by the Inspector General (IG) into these people, it would save labor in the long run. We don't need to know who these people are unless we sue them, but in my case, when I sue them, I want to know what percentage of denials this person has. I am not sure I even blame this person, but I still deserve better treatment. So do you.

As an Australian gentleman said, "You get the quality of government care you deserve." I might have said we get the level of care we put up with. You may not agree, but you KNOW if 60 Minutes did an investigation, congress would probably act on it.
