Welcome and what a full plate you have.
I went back to school at nearly 50 and had kids, some older and a younger one all with physical and or emotional problems and know the stress. I did have family for what good it did, I was expected to care for all....no time for me.

what are you studying, and do the kids have IEP's and special help at school?
You will find all kind of support here,
I am sending a warm hug  and hope we are just what you need.

2 of the kids get speech, all 3 get counceling, and 1 gets occupational therapy, they all see a adhd specialist, the oldest 2 they say are going to either have bipolar or schizophrenia but they want to wait and treat when 100% nessasary. some times i wish i was more ok but then all i can do is my best. they are my life i keep them on min meds. the school hates it. i have no family or friends. what i do have is online support that is it. i have ran everyone away some purposly and some accidently. not sure why.

welcome!
another hoosier:)
well I used to be a hoosier...lol.
I grew up in south bend....lived in bloomington for school and indy for work, have family still living all over the state too. We jsut got back from visiting there, we usually get there 2-3 times a year.
This years visit was special...I got to meet abbie, one of our moderators.
It was great finally meeting a cyber forum friend.

In regards to your diabetes....what is your a1c blood test result.
It is usually a 0ne digit number and is the best indicator of whether you are diabetic or not....it tests your overall blood sugars and what they have been for the past 3 months. Ask your doctor what this is.
the number should be below 7.

You have a lot on your plate....you mentioned your kids, do you have a supportive husband helping?

let us know how we can help you.

Hi, I'm not sure what part of Indiana you live in. Or if you would trust
anyone to help with school issues.

But I'm a Regional Program Specialist for IN*SOURCE which is just a fancy name for a Parent advocate for parents who have kids with special needs.

We help parents with kids in schools that need us. We are free, and are
also good. We know the law, and we also do trainings all over the state.

I'm in one part of the state but there are people all over the state.

Or main office is in South Bend, and I'd be glad to give you that 800 #.

But I definately don't want to be over stepping my grounds or pushy.

I'm here to help, and to also listen.

I also am lucky enough that people listen to my problems.

Welcome.

I lost my friends when I was sick. And it is harder to make friends now that I am older even though I am better and better medicated.

Some of them I chased away and some of them ran. A few died. People died or left or got scared off or moved on.

Truthfully, I don't have energy for people.
I have my hubby. Also one long time friend (25) years. She and I get together once a week at the gym or to walk.

I think that this is one of our greatest losses as we ride the road to wellness -- Friends.

Welcome!

The friends that seem to stick by me are the ones who also share my illness. I have met some of them in the past by support groups or clubs for those who share the same illness as mine.
