Pain real bad!!!!!!!

Hi Everyone,
Sorry it has taken me so long to get back with you all. I am having so much pain it is unreal. A week ago Friday I started to have some bad pain in the shoulder. Everytime I would lean back, bend over, or move my arm a certain way I would get such a sharp pain in my shoulder blade that I could hardly breathe. When I would lay down I could only lay on my right side. I called my doc and the nurse told me I needed to call Carol at medtronics to see what she said(she is the representative in the quad cities area). So I did and she scheduled to see me at my docs office on wednesday morning. She reprogrammed my scs from a narrow coverage to a wide coverage and up my amplitude from 1.10 to 1.60. I thought I was ok when i left, but later when I got home I sat in my chair and I got major muscle spasms the ones that would not release so I had to take my other hand to try and move my arm in a different position and it was very difficult. So when I sat back, bent over or moved my arm just right the spasms would take hold and not release til I got my arm in a different position. I tried to lay down in bed that night and I went into spasms again so i had to get up and turn it off. I slept so so that night because of all the pain. I got up the next morning and turned it back on and I went into spasms right away so I triedto turn it down and it did no good I stayed in sppasms. So I called Carol again and she told me there isn't much more she could do for me, but reccommended that I leave it off for a day and then call her back and tell her how it went.I did that and I had excrutiating pain in my left shoulder and it seemed as if it had moved from the back up to my whole shoulder then. If I would move it the wrong way I would get a major lightning bolt feeling go through my whole entire arm without the scs on. When I talked to Carol yesterday she told me to try it over the weekend without it running and only use it when I needed it and call her Monday with what happened. She said that she can't diagnose it but she thinks my rsd is progressing. She said that if I am not any better on Monday she will call the docs office and see what they say and come to the appointment with me if the doc thinks it is nessecary and maybe he won't be able to do anymore for me. Imight just have to live with it hurting in both of my shoulders. I won't know til come Monday what will happen. The only thing I do know is I either run the scs and have spasms all the time or just deal with the pain. Some choice huh? I have so bad in both shoulders that I have minimal movement with my arms and hands. I am in so much pain. The only thing that helps a little when I sit is if I put a pillow behind my back but Istill do hurt a lot. Does this sound like something rsd could do? It started in my left wrist and hand and has moved up my arm. I am not sure I just know the pain is not going away. Please if anyone has any comments or suggestions or anything at all please help me. And please tell me if u think my rsd is progressing. Thank u to you all for reading this. It means a lot to me.

Sincerely,
Screwballpookie

hi

My RSD has progressed to all limbs- (Started in my foot) I do not have a SCS but I am wondering if you take muscle relaxers? Maybe baclofen would help the spasm- People with MS take that and can work well.

Hope that is helpful

Debbie

I do not take any muscle relaxant right now. I am hoping the doc can do something for me because of me being in so much pain. Last time I talk to him he told me there was nothing else he could do for me. So I don't know what is going to happen. I am just worried that it is the rsd progressing. If it is and they can't do anything for me then I don't know what I am going to do.

Sincerely,
Screwballpookie
