Itchy Forearm

I have seen other posts on this website regarding my problem with brachial radial pruitis, but nobody seems to know how to cure it. It is an itching and rash on the forearm, but I also have pain in the muscles. I have been to about 10 doctors in every field including two dermatologists, a neurosurgeon, a neurologist, a orthopedic doctor, a chiropractor and an accupuncturist. I finally got to the point where a couple of doctors agree on the diagnosis. I have been diagnosed with Shingles, tennis elbow, fungus, bacterial infection, and not until I asked for a biopsy, did it rule out any fungus and bacterial infection. It was finally agreed on that I had brachial radial pruitis. The first dermatologist was familiar with the condition and sent me to an orthopedic doctor who suggested an Epidural. I thought this would only take care of the pain temporarily, and I wanted a second opinion. I was then treated for Shingles by a neurosurgeon another doctor sent me to, but none of the medications that other doctors have helped. I'm thinking of going back to a chiropractor. Does anyone have any answers to this problem. Does pain in the muscle come with this problem, as it could be a separate problem from the rash and intense itch that keeps me awak at night. Ice packs help temporarily, but not medications help.

Hi there Rene, and welcome to NeuroTalk.

I'm sorry that I don't have any answers to your pruritis problems, but look around the boards and join in anywhere you want.

I'm so pleased that you found us, and I do hope that you 'll get some answers soon.

Hi, Rene! :Wave-Hello: Welcome to NeuroTalk!

Ugh, that sounds miserable. Sometime my MS gives me what I call "phantom itching", it's not topical, it's nerve related. Have you ever been put on neurontin for this?

I found a recent thread on your condition, you might want to jump in and brainstorm with these gals:

:I have read several posts re this thread
also several pages on mens health
I have suffered from this condition for 5 years
I really think there is more to it
just as an experiment I went to the tan bed the other day and had a flare up that night
I'm not so sure that cervical spine has so much to do with it
I' a veterinarian and am going to spend some time looking into this
