Female Problems

Just wondering if anyone has experienced pain in the urethea down along with itching in the sensitive area. I have this on one side and all possiblities have been r/o- not uti or yeast or bacteria...so that leads me to believe its the RSD- Its driving me crazy!!

Any thoughts

Debbie

Not my area of expertise, but Dr. Ursula Wesselmann's clinic at Johns Hopkins is supposed to be the best place in the country for these issues: http://www.neuro.jhmi.edu/PelvicPain/home.html.

I have a similar problem as well. It doesn't happen all the time, just comes and goes. Sometimes when I go pee it will hurt bad and I feel some burning too. It's in the very end part of the urethra and I really feel it on the outside right there. It's not a uti and no one has an explanation, except for that it's rsd related. Nothing else is wrong. I don't have any itching with it and I'm glad I don't cause when I feel what I feel, that's bad enough all by itself! You're definitely not alone in this.

Hugs,

Karen

burning pain

I have CRPS II in the right side side of my body. When it's flaring up, I sometimes get burning pain on the right side of my genital area (outside only), but not pain upon urination.

I get the burning also when I urinate sometimes, & it goes right down into the bottoms of my feet. What I mean is, my feet will burn when I pee. I don't get burning down thru my legs just at the urethea & in my feet. And not all the time either. This has been going on for years off & on. Usually at night only too, late night after 10pm to 6am or so.. And no I never remember to ask the doctor about this. I have RSD in both feet & ankles since late 2003. And I have never had a bladder or kidney infection in my whole entire life & no it is not a yeast or any type of infection on the outside either.

I have always just assumed it has to do with RSD as it nevre happened before this to me.

Hi Debbie,

I have delt with pelvic pain for as long as the RSD, around 98. I was diagnosed with Interstital Cystitis and spent 3+ years in treatment for it to get it calmed down. I deal with nerve pain from scar tissue. I just got my 4th diagnoses of it Aug. 6th but not one Dr. wants to do surgery due to my intestines being stuck with the scar tissue. The pain is just on the left side also. I also have inside pain which we have calmed down right now so it may be part of RSD.

Anyway to make a long story short, I would find a good Urologist. They can check you out and do lidocaine treatments to help calm down things going on. Also I use a lidocaine patch at times and I also sleep with a heating pad on my left hip area. It sure doesn't seem to want to go away.

Feel better soon.

Thanks so much for your responses. I don't want it to be the RSD- I would love a diagnosis that would get better with meds! It is so rediculous.

Will definitely think about seeing a urologist if the GYN can't figure it out. I did get a lidocaine

gel which helps a bit and she recommended A & D so now I smell like a baby's butt-lol

Hi Debbie, I'm Loretta and have had RSD 12 years- now full body. and also internally. I have burning and pain in vaginial area and itching on the outside. The over the counter vaginal cream calms it down. It is not all the time, occassionally only. maybe just during flare ups. I don't have the urinary tract problem. The cream totally stops the itching. Loretta
