Should I call my neuro about this?

I'm going on a vacation saturday. I've noticed today that my right leg around the knee feels a bit stiff and numb, and tonight I've just noticed that my feet are numb on the bottoms. Oh, and I've got the tingly arms and what feels like a pulled muscle in the right side of my neck. (dont think the pulled muscle has anything to do with the numb and tingly things)

Would it be a good idea to call the neuro and ask if there's anything I should do (like beg him for a short course of 'roids) before leaving, or something I can do over the weekend while I'm on my trip to keep the numbness and stiff knee from bugging me too much?

I'm already planning on a cane, just trying to decide if I want the one that collapses down to a small size (folds up) or if I should take my nice, pretty one that's perfectly adjusted for myself. (I'm thinking my nice pretty one would be a good one to take, since it would probably make a good weapon to smack a bear with if we encounter one at the state park we're going to stop at in Minnesota on monday)

Oh...note to self...buy a whistle for the state park. (dont wanna get lost, but if I do, I want them to find me before next spring.)

My last vacation, the MS Trolls left me pretty much alone that week. Why is it they're wanting to play this week? (Murphy's Law?) I was walking at Costco tonight with my parents while shopping, and felt like I was tipsy, without the fun of the alcohol.

I just wonder if I should ask for a Rx of steroids that I could take with me (but not fill unless they're needed) I really dont like the steroids, but I dont want to not be able to keep up with the boyfriend because I'm dragging a leg behind me.

I'd call. Just to set your mind at ease before your vacation. Let your neuro know you'll be going on vacation too so they're aware of the situation.

Your neuro will be best to advise you if they feel you need a course of medication before the vacation :)

Ok, I'll call him first thing, just in case he isnt there, maybe one of his neuro buddies will be able to tell me if I need anything (Rx's?) before I leave.

I think my neuro is off on fridays...hopefully that's just every other friday, because I'd prefer to talk to him than the other neuros.

I think I'm almost packed for saturday. Picked out some t-shirts, pair of jeans, extra undies...couple of crochet/knitting things, my camera and a book.

Taking my nice cane, and I'm sitting here getting used to my brand new sneakers (should have bought those weeks ago) Taking my Crocs with me because I know my feet wont like wearing sneakers all weekend.

I'm leaving my laptop behind...probably...just seems like a lot to carry just so I can check messages here and on my crochet forums. I'd rather have something to crochet. I may take my PDA tho, since I can put music and Word documents on there to read when I cant sleep and the boyfriend is sleeping.

I'm excited! Even tho it's just a weekend trip, I'm actually getting out of town for a couple of days. Yaaaaay! I cant wait to leave now. I probably wont sleep tonight and I dont even leave till saturday morning.

Last time I went on a vacation, I had the Insomnia From Heck the night before we left, I was so tired by the time we got to our hotel. (drove slowly across South Dakota because I had just developed a UTI...lucky me! Good thing that by the time we decided to stop for me to see a doctor, we were in the only town for several hundred miles that had a hospital...which is in Chamberlain, SD...that is such a pretty town!)

My having to stop every 30 minutes (argh!) kept us from getting to our hotel till 11pm (we left at 6am) Boyfriend was not pleased, but wasnt mad. Just tired.

I hope that I can avoid having anything medical happen to me this weekend. (made sure to pay the $8 for the hotel insurance if we dont make it up there. That way I wouldnt have to pay for the hotel if something weird happens MS-wise...)

I do hope you have a fun weekend and a great vacation! :)

I hope so too! We're going to one of the cities in South Dakota that we drove thru last year when we went to Rapid City...It's one that we didnt stop in, but just drove thru or around. It's just for a couple of days, but I think the boyfriend deserves to get away from his jobs for a couple of days.

I picked out a couple of things I want to see there, and he picked out a few things (some of our choices overlap). I picked out a restaurant that serves Middle Eastern food that I want to try, I think he picked out a blues restaurant/bar that he wants to go to for one of the places that we're going to be eating at.

I better go to bed (it's 315am) so that I can hopefully get to bed at a decent time tomorrow night so I wont be sleep walking thru the weekend.

I hope you have a nice time this weekend, Erin. Just relax and enjoy yourself.....and post some pics for us if you take any!! :)

I'm charging the batteries to my camera as we speak, and I'll be stealing my dad's camera card (holds more pictures)

My dad and I both have nearly the same camera. (a Sony) My bf just got a new camera a few months back...it's nearly the same camera too, same brand. If he forgets his battery charger, I'll have mine that he can borrow.

I LOVE to take pictures, so I'll probably come back with an SD card full of stuff.

i called the neuro this afternoon.

He told me to make sure I take a 1 hour nap, or at least sit down and rest for awhile if I'm numb or if my right leg gets tired. Told him I was going to carry along a cane, and he said that was a good idea to do. So, instead of taking my own cane, I'm stealing one of my mom's canes (she doesnt really use them anymore) The one I'm borrowing from her is a nice collapsible one. Wish I had the little bag it came in originally tho. Oh well.

I think I got all my carp packed...boyfriend will be happy I kept it down to one suitcase, two purses, a cane, and no laptop. (taking the PDA tho)
