Hi penman

hi , read your post about capsule release. I live in Massachusetts also and wondered did you have a arthroscopic surgical release or manipulation under anathesia? If so what doctor performed the procedure and were you satisfied with the result

thanks rich

Hi Richard,

Ar eyou too struggling with frozen shoulder?

richard d 09-02-2008 02:50 PM

Hi Shelley, in fact this is the second time in the right shoulder.Penman posted about a surgical release and was hoping he would provide more information since he is from Massachusetts as well. I have sent him a few pm's and he was online when I posted this but for some reason he does not seem inclined to answer.

hope your feeling better

Richard:)

Hey Richard.

Sorry to hear that. Do they know why it has happened twice? THe first time did it release by itself or through PT?

I am struggling with mine and if its not better by November I will go back and have them manipulate under anathesia. :(

Good luck

frozen shoulder surgery

The surgery was done by Dr. Holovacs at Mass General. I was very happy with the results on the shoulder, but still had ulnar nerve elbow damage and other TOS problems. Seat belt impact led to bone spurs tearing the inside of the shoulder joint up. He spent almost three hours in there cleaning things up.

Before the surgery, any sudden movement would put me on the floor in pain. Trying to pull open a bag of chips would finish me for the day.

Spent three days in the hospital on nerve block after the surgery so that they could move the arm. PT was not easy keeping the range of movement, but at least I do not worry about moving the arm quickly now. Drop me a PM if you would like to talk about it on the phone.

thanks for responding and I am glad to hear your at least making some progress with some pain reduction as well.

thanks rich:)
