my endometrial biopsy

I had it this morning, results to be back next Monday. He said I will feel a little pinch as he takes the scraping. I just said with all the neuropathy pains that shoot into my hands and feet with no notice that i can take his little pinch. Plus anyone who has had a barium enema can take it. He aggreed. It lasted less than a nano second! He said that fro a person who is post menopausal with endometrial thickening, the fact that i am on Progegesterone really protects me so much from cancer. So I am glad I have been on it for years.

Good news, Doydie! I do hate having these types of tests near the end of the week and having to wait out the weekend for results, though..Glad it went well, and I've crossed all crossable things that the results will be the best!

I called the office today. Pathology report said precancerous. So I go in to see him next week to talk about 'options'. What other option would there be but a hysterectomy? But I am all for that anyway. My Mom freaked out but I'm not letting myself be all freaked out until a final pathology after the hysterectomy. So my appointment is next Tuesday at 11.

The key word in all that seems to be "Pre-cancerous", as in "before cancer", right? I'm so glad you went in for this, it gives you so many more options..Thanks for the update!

Doydie,

Ask if an endometrial ablation is a possibility. Its where they can destroy the endometrial tissue without a hysterectomy. Google a procedure called novasure. I have been reading about for some female issues I have been having (endo) and am asking my doc about it this week.

dmplaura 09-08-2008 09:55 PM

Indeed, 'pre-cancerous' doesn't even necessarily mean it will be cancer. Big hugs :)
