What are these test for?
Ok, so I had bloodwork done last month and when i called for the results I was told that everything was in normal range.
I thought they were only testing for Hep C. When I picked up my copy, the tests done were: Immunoglobulins A/E/G/M IgG subclasses (1-4) Some were noted as high. What exactly are these tests for? Help, please. Thanks!!!! |
I dont know what they're specifically for, but they're tests for antibodies of certain viruses. As for what viruses, I dont know.

Hiya MM!
Sorry to hear about all the troubles you are going through lately! You have a LOT on your plate! While doing some research on another disease this morning, I came across the definition for your tests! I came back specifically to post it to you so you can do more research if you need to. The tests you had were to measure your intact monoclonal immunoglobulin (IgG, IgA, IgD, or IgE). These tests have various uses is different diseases, and may be useful to the doc with what you are going through right now. |
dont you hate being confused?
http://www.amarillomed.com/howto.htm this explains some basic tests. I didnt squint hard enough to see if IGE and so forth were included. I know its markers for things like lupus, arthritis, and markers for exposure to other things as well. it shows up if you are having allergic reactions, and so forth. Call the MD office, and ask for an explanation. |
thanks dejibo. that was a great link.
i agree. to call your dr's office and have someone explain it to you. |
