Do you use a catalog to buy things to aide in everyday life?
I went to The Container Store yesterday and found lots of awesome things that could help prevent pain and otherwise help life go smoothly. (Something that opens soda and tuna cans, a book clip thing, and a bottle opener...)
It got me wondering: do you guys get items like this from a catalog? It seems that there should be one out there. I'll do some homework, but if you already know of something- let us know :D Thanks!! |

Here's one catalog I got fr PT - though I haven't used it yet - called "functional solutions" that lists it's website BeAbleToDo.com
I have ordered fr SitInComfort.com and like them a lot |
I just ordered a bunch. One I know for sure was from the one Fern mentioned at BeAbleToDo.com Beyond that, I can't retrace my steps unfortunately, so I can't tell yall which ones I actually ordered :? Sooooo, as soon as I get them in I'll report back 8)

Yay! Got my first batch :) both are from Ali Med they are easier living and office ergonomics. On the ergobilities website when u request a catalog they ask u for your company name and other info- (i guess they usually get therapists or corporations requesting this..) I just said "Private Use" or "Disabled Caretaker". Just make it up! They'll send u it still :D I don't remember exactly how I got both to come to me because I only filled out the request for ergobilities I think. MAybe I listed that I was interested in receiving an adaptive daily living catalog too.
more in the mail to come..... Quote:

I tried a bunch of stuff, what I use most is
jar pop- jar opener fiskers powergear pruners immersion blender kitchen aid food processor book clips marmot lumbar pack (backpack that doesn't use shoudler straps) furi tech edge proknife sharping system (sharp knife hurt less to use) rocker knife toaster oven (easier than opening a oven door to bake) laundry hamper with three bins so I can sort clothes by wash temperature as I put them in rather than sorting on laundry day. dollar store purse (very light because it's so cheaply made) ipod pocket file folders for receipts so they don't get lost thick gel tip pens |
Complete list of catalogs I've recieved so far
Here's what I've had delivered w/ their web addresses in order: best to worst of what I deem most useful to us TOS-ers
Support Plus Pretty awesome :D www.supportplus.com Dynamic Living Also great www.dynamic-living.com Office Ergonomics Computer help www.ergobilities.com Functional Solutions Pretty much covers all physical limitations, as in: something for everyone www.beabletodo.com Easier Living Good for rollator walkers/ carts and some ergo-utensils www.easierliving.com AbleWare Really for people with mobility challenges. But a couple of ergo-utensils http://service.maddak.com/ |
