Boy, when it rains, it really pours...

Goodness, my brain can't take much more stress...

My DD decided to stay up in Wis. after graduating and got a job teaching. So far, so good.
Then, my DS got married in June. Empty nest...really good.

Then, you-know-what hit the fan...

More and more doc appts., more time spent with inlaws. Trying not to get MIL angry when I check her medicine boxes that she sets up for her and my FIL. Try to take care of ordering their meds, taking them shopping, etc. Stressful, but manageable.

Then, DD calls, crying, so unsure of herself as a teacher. I have to talk to her to calm her down, give her suggestions as to how to handle things.

Oldest son decides he might not want to stay with his wife of 2 yrs. Moves home...with his dog. My dog is NOT happy.

Son that just got married decides he wants to go back to school to be a teacher. What? More stress, worry.

I just found out I have arthritis in my feet. Physcial therapy recommended after cortisone injection (ow!) in foot didn't do the trick.

In fact, all of my joints are bothering me now. I read in a book that fibro can lead to osteoarthritis. Grrr...

I've been praying a lot to help me deal with stuff. but still weepy...

Calgon, take me away...

hey Debbie ... when things start swirling around me (like too much activity and my brain goes into overdrive trying to figure everything out) ...

I stop - and sit still ... do nothing ... let the calm come in to you ...

I do a nice warm foot soak ... that really helps, because you can't get up to move and do stuff ..

... breathe, breathe ... remember, the decisions they are making are theirs ... and you need to be strong - believe in who they are, not what they do ..

prayers to you!

Vonn good advice....

When I first get home from work, which I run a McDonald's so when there...so much going on in my mind and notes that I keep....

So when I walk in the house, most days I can handle the kids..and all...

some days though...if they all start talking at once....and trying to say hi and bye to hubby...( we work opposite shifts not much time together)...I get so overwhelmed and lost in the head..that I have to Say STOP.....otherwise I get to yelling at the kids when I shouldnt need to...

so I just quickly say...(dont really say STOP TOO much) but I say WAIT mom has to sit down, and just rest her mind a bit....

sitting down and breathing....helps...
try to let go of the worries you cant control....the son moving back in...did you give moving back in terms...might be a good idea...like him paying a bit of rent...or helping around the house if staying there....

good luck hun, hugsss,sarah

Thank you, all, for your support and suggestions...
I llike to go into my DD's old room, and DS's old room, actually the babies' room, and read some religious articles and do some meditation before the dogs know that I'm awake.
But I can't seem to carry that through the stresses of the day. Don't know if it's the cog problems, or the amount of stressors that I carry every day.
DH is asking to carry more of the load of his M&D's stuff, like ordering their meds...that will take a bit off of my shoulders.
We're talking together about what to do (and not do) about our kids' lives...I know, in my head that that bird has flown, but the mama bird doesn't know how to let go:rolleyes:
The PT isn't having a great deal of success on the foot pain...but I do my exercises faithfully. I need dr's help to deal with the arthritis, but what can be done, really? I exercise, take my meds, learning how to stretch those spasmic muscles, no more can really be done.
Except the letting go. When do moms get that book to learn that skill?
Thanks again, you all, for all the support...

Hey Debbie~ Seeing this a little late, but just wanted to let you know that I'm thinkng of you. I went through alot of stress last yr when my Mother passed away and then my Sis moved. It just seemed like my world came crashing in on me.

I remember my DD's first teaching job; she was bound and determined to make a difference in every child's life. When she found out that the world does not work that way, she felt deflated. But, all we can do as parent's is, give them love and encouragement.

Hang in there, let your DH help w/his parents and try and focus on what you can do to make things easier for you. Take care of yourself.

There's only one YOU.
