Diabetes and the use of Sorbitol:

I have a thread on the Vitamin forum here about this problem:

I suggest readers here take a look at it.

Want to know something?? I just finished watching THE BIGGEST LOSER. They have all kinds of products on this show which they promote each week.

They have been promoting XTRA sugar free gum. This gum has aspertame.

Alan wants to throw something at the tv whenever they show this product.

We know that sorbitol and most artificial sweetners are really bad for you.

But to see a tv show promote this, well, it baffles me.

Don't they read up on what they sponsor??

Nope Mel, unfortunately the way it works is based on how much a given sponsor is willing to pay for product placement in the show. I am sure they have some sort of medical advice on whether products are safe in moderation and in their minds they are basing it on that product is safer than eating cake or cookies etc.

I know not right but its how it works.:(

SO ALL IN ALL, IT ALWAYS COMES DOWN TO MONEY!!!

That's why Big Tobacco continues to be allowed to sell things that kill. And pharmaceutical companies will still continue to manufacture pills for $100 a pop. IT'S ALL ABOUT MONEY!!

Oh brother.
