Homework

I am sitting here with 65 Algebra problems to do for class tomorrow and I don't want to do them.... can you tell? :D I haven't been reading post in a day or two so I had a lot to catch up on!

yeah so I am doing everything I can NOT to do algebra.....

how is the weather in your neck of the woods? :D Sunny here but only 68 degrees - leaves are changing already - only suppose to be 50 for a high on Friday! brrrrrr

ok, I think it is time for a smoke - algebra can wait!

Yeahbut,
The ex-teacher and Mom of two homework hating twins, says to you, do it,get it over, be proud of your capability to do it, do it in small bites, set small goals - like do 25 before dinner, 25 after, the rest before bed (are they due tnmorrow?). The sooner you begin, the sooner it's over.

You're doing a hard thing, going back to school. You rock!!!

Char - Your word of the day seems to be PROCRASTINATION. Hence, this is for you. LOL

Procrastinator's Creed

1. I believe that if anything is worth doing, it would have been done already.
2. I shall never move quickly, except to avoid more work or find excuses.
3. I will never rush into a job without a lifetime of consideration.
4. I shall meet all of my deadlines directly in proportion to the amount of bodily injury I could expect from missing them.
5. I firmly believe that tomorrow holds the possibility for new technologies, astounding discoveries, and a reprieve from my obligations.
6. I truly believe that all deadlines are unreasonable regardless of the amount of time given.
7. I shall never forget that the probability of a miracle, though infinitesimally small, is not exactly zero.
8. If at first I don't succeed, there is always next year.
9. I shall always decide not to decide, unless of course I decide to change my mind.
10. I shall always begin, start, initiate, take the first step, and/or write the first word, when I get around to it.
11. I obey the law of inverse excuses which demands that the greater the task to be done, the more insignificant the work that must be done prior to beginning the greater task.
12. I know that the work cycle is not plan/start/finish, but is wait/plan/plan.
13. I will never put off tomorrow, what I can forget about forever.
14. I will become a member of the ancient Order of Two-Headed Turtles (The Procrastinator's Society) if they ever get it organized.

LOL. OK, now get your algebra homework out and get busy. Break it down in to sections and then reward yourself with a smoke after each section. Taking on 65 algebra problems at once is a little overwhelming. Maybe divide it up in to sections of 15 or something. Once you complete a series of problems go for a smoke, read some posts, eat some ice cream, or what ever you want to reward yourself with.

Update us and let us know how you did.

Trish - to funny - my gosh you are all cracking me up today..... I was going to put that I was procratinating but I couldn't remember how to spell it so I changed my wording...... bad cog day! I couldn't have people thinking she is going to college and can't spell! :D

Do I have to come over there and do what I do with my 11 year old DS who has ADHD? We set a timer for 15 minutes and see how many he can get done. Then, he sees how many he can do for a short period of time and it makes him feel like it isn't too overwhelming!

OK, I just set the timer now get to it. Let me know how many you got done in that time.

Momma heading up to your room to check on your math project...

Do I see you working on those problems yet?

Tell ya what my lil mathmagician...if you finish early you can have extra time for shopping at the mall? If a C is your best so be it...but I think you will get higher, cause you're gonna work really hard.

I know its tough...but once you start on those solutions to those lil ole math problems...you will feel like Wonder Woman and Superman all in one.

You'll wonder why you procrastinated, and feel all super they are done!
