Worst Pain EVER!!!

Last night I had to teach dance for 2 1/2 hours. I got home around 9:30 (yes that is way past my bedtime) and at 10:00 both my feet started to cramp. It was just in my toes to start then all of a sudden it was my arches, my ankles and my R calf!!!! Whoa that was some pain I have never experienced before!

I thought it was just because of teaching. My feet cramped a couple of times during class. But then when the cramps wouldn't go away I started to think it was MS. After about 15 min of pain (and many f bombs) I called my neuro. She called back and confirmed it was spasticity. Luckily she called in a script for Baclofen for me at the 24hr pharmacy.

Is this what some of you deal with? Do you take Bac for it? Also, is this the start of more spasms for me? Sorry for all the questions but this is new to me. It kind of freaked me out...not to mention DBF! He was shocked but also soooo supportive! I think he is a keeper.

I have spasms like that too - starts in the feet (they get distorted) and then moves up my leg to my butt. It is uncomfortable, if not painful sometimes.

Are you still sore today? I know that after that happens I'm sore for a day or 2. Maybe I have small spasms going on and don't realize.

I don't take the Baclofen for it. Although I have some on hand, I am trying to stay off as many medications as I can. I do however, take Epsom salt baths. These really, really help my sore muscles.

I hope you are starting to feel better today.

I am still sore today. From my knees down are sore and feel weak. My feet are the worst right now. I took 1/2 a pill to see if that would help with the soreness. I usually don't take meds unless I really have to.

I will keep in mind the epsom salt bath. Maybe I'll have DBF fill one up for me tonight. hehehe I could use a little pampering after last night! :o

Thanks for the advice tkrik!

sorry you are feeling so yucky GG:(. I get these in my butt....for years
and years. Heat works great for me but when they are happening all
over its impossible to apply heat to every spot.:(

maybe a nice warm bath(not too hot) will do the trick.

:hug::hug:to you. feel better soon.

Thanks so much! The pain was just so intense! I will try the bath next time (hopefully there won't be a next time)!

I hope you feel better soon.:) I am always sore after any activity. It may be that you over did it last night and got your muscles riled up.

I take flexeril for my muscle spasms and drink plenty of water. I also swear and live with the heating pad. It is my cure all for any pain.:)

Hugs,
Becky:hug:

Thanks laura!

I'll try the heating pad too! Thanks Becky. Although putting around the tootsies might be challenging! I'm sure it will help my calves. Seems the Bac has helped some. Still a little weak.

Sorry for your intro to spazz!

Baclofen helps. I am on 20 mg. TID with extra doses as needed. It holds the foot and leg cramps at bay. I also take tizanidine when I go to bed. I hate getting awakened by spasms. I need all the sleep I can get!

I have TWO of those hot wax baths. When I get the hand cramps, I soak them for hours in the hot wax. (Heating pads are hard to keep on hands!) My feet are too big for the wax vat ( ) or I'd have them in one too! (I wish I had a body sized one sometimes...:p)

Stretching helps! Do stretches before you get up, before you do any exercise, AND AFTER exercise to cool down! They really do help to cut the cramps off before they start.

I hope you find something that relieves them for you.

I only had that one episode, should I stay ontop of the Baclofen or only take it when I spasm? I am not one to take many meds. Especially if I am not having any symptoms.
