Beta Pain

I received my 3-month supply of Betaseron, and have given myself three injections from the new supply. Usually, I have no pain with the injections. However, the past three shots have hurt--hurt bad. One of them nearly made me cry. I am going to call the Beta nurse tomorrow, but I was wondering if anyone else has had painful injections of Beta lately.

I frequently have really painful Beta shots, but not always. Sometimes the pain radiates down my leg (from either a butt or high thigh shot). Sometimes I don't feel a thing. Go figure.

Merganser, thank you for taking the time to answer me. I talked to the Beta nurse today who said to make sure the injectible is mixed properly, and to let it sit for ten minutes before injecting it. So, I will try that tonight.

Before this started, I was doing my shot and it was no big deal. Now, I'm dreading shot time! :( I'm sorry you have pain with your shots. I just think it's quite a coincidence that my pain began with this new shipment of injections.

Good luck, for a pain free shot, tonight..

Well, that didn't work. I made sure the powder was completely disolved, and then let the mixture sit for 20 minutes before injecting my arm. Yeow! Did that ever hurt. So, I'll call the Beta nurse today and see what she says. :Scratch-Head:

Yep, that's happened with Jim several times. We have gone to only butt shots where there is more to grab onto. Seriously, the arm shots about take him down and the thigh shots are just as bad. So far, so good with only doing the behind.

Thank you, Sandy.

Thanks, Sally. I'll look into that other website message.
