60 minutes last night.

If you missed this show, and are interested in the candidates...
it is available online (with some commercials)

(I am sorry-- I clicked on the green P political icon, and the light bulb shows up
on the post! I must have had a senior moment!) I meant this thread to have the
correct icon! sigh

Doody 09-22-2008 09:47 AM

Looks like an okay icon to me Mrs. D. :winky: I could kick myself for not being in tune with 60 minutes last night. Didn't find out about it until this morning.

:thud:

Thanks for the link.

mrsD 09-22-2008 09:50 AM

I think a mod fixed it... Thank you.

I typically use the lightbulb icon. When I clicked on the
green Political one, I guess I missed the little hole. When I looked back at my post...the lightbulb was on it!

I sometimes have problems with the monitor since I wear trifocals and early in the morning I am just not up to par. :o

Thanks! I'm going to listen right now!

Never mind, I just read part of McCain's responses. So, he voted for deregulation of the banking industry; he now all of a sudden agrees there is a problem with the economy (like he's reading it from a script); he supports the government bailing out of said banking industry, but the blame is put on Wall Street???? Give me a break. Please.

It's "flavor of the day" with this particular politician. Whatever everyone's agreeing with that particular day.....he's on it. Reading from a script? Yes. Being cued when to smile? Yes, yes, yes. Please............

Obviously all politicans have a script - that's the name of the game- all of them -not specific parties or politicans - all !!!! Sometimes that seems to be forgotten by some of you -

That goes without saying.....of course they all have a script.

But....the politician reading the script should at least be a little familiar with what he's saying and not be perceived as reading the script for the first time ever!! That's exactly the "vibe" I get from McCain. No emotion (or exaggerated "pretend" emotions inserted whenever told). And inappropriate anger (scary!). And constantly looking down to read what he's supposed to be saying. C'mon! Does he actually have an opinion on anything or does he just go with whatever seems to be popular any given day?

It's true that all politicians have a script. But, not all politicians can speak "off-the-cuff". McCain struggles enough just trying to read his little cards. The upcoming debate will only prove my point. A script is an absolute necessity for him. I'm still looking for the strings attached to his arms and legs.;)

[Limit your direct discussion of politics, as people usually hold pretty strong opinions about this topic.]
from our guidelines.

Please let's not bash either side, as we all have friends here from all political parties.

We are a support community first, that is the main reason we are here.

When the debates come...

Watch McCain's clothing carefully.

During the GWBush debates, many photos were taken and showed a bulky transmitter on his back.

They are on the net in many places. One photo even enhanced by a NASA employee who did that for a living! One other speculation was that he was wearing a cardiac device. But that information has not been released to the public either.

Also watch for him, listening. GWB was caught listening to his earpiece quite a bit. This is quite controversial as you might expect, but I am going to watch for it. Also it is possible that technology has enabled the transmitter/receiver to be smaller now, so we might not see it as easily. So watch the behavior of the candidates to see if they are being prompted.
