brain zaps
I have been having brain zaps here lately that are bothering me.
I have had very light brain zaps before my MS diagnosis and before any of the medications I am on now. Can brain zaps be strictly MS related? I have read going off of an anti depressant can cause these zaps, but my meds have not changed at all. I am on Lexapro and have been on it for several months. When I get a zap it affects my eyes. If I am looking at the TV screen my eyes move so that I have to look back at what I was looking at. Any ideas? |
Other then what it does to your eyes, would you mind describing your "brain zaps", LA? Do you hear them, feel them, or ?
I think I know what you are saying, but I just want to compare notes. Cherie |
It is not painful. It is like a quick surge through my head. Maybe a spasm or even a jerk.
I do not hear anything when it happens. My head does not actually move although it feels like it could. It moves my center of vision when it happens. I am pretty sure my eyes are not moving as in nystagmus. I do not seem them jitter when I look in the mirror. I notice them most any time during the day and there does not seem to be any pattern or certian time of day when it is worse. Calling it a zap is a good way to put it because it is there and gone, but with no pain. Weird. |
has this been going on for some time? if so have you called Neuro or doctor? do you get a spasm in your neck, I get something similiar I can feel it run through my head and my neck will spasm sometimes real hard its quick and so far painless but sometimes the spasm scare me they are a bit too strong? hope you can get a good answer, and or so help to ease it, if it keeps going on drop doc a call

It has been going on at this intensity for the past two weeks. I see my doctor next week.
I have had these zaps, very slightly, before my diagnosis. I do get spasms in my neck but this is in my temple eye area on both sides. It runs behind my eye in the front part of my head. I have never felt it in the back side of my head. The spams I get in my neck come around into my chin and are very uncomfortable. Well, I will see my doctor next week and try to figure this out. I have some other things going on that make me wonder if this might be a flare of some sort or maybe just stress. I lost track of my footing on the steps the other day and fell down the steps. I was lucky because our steps are not a full flight. I went backwards however I was going down the steps so I fell UP the stairs. I have several ugly bruises on my arm, a sore back side, and am very irritated by this! I had a cup of water with me as I was going down the steps and the whole cup ended up on my head! I was dripping wet.:o I yelled for my husband but he was totally out. He wears a c-pap and can not hear anything when he is sleeping. So, I have been very careful on the steps and we know we need to move into a ranch style home. But who has the money to do much of anything right now. Quote:
