MG Advertising

Hi all! I just wanted to pop in and let you know I was in Edinburgh to see my neuro on Monday and when I steppped off the train on Princes street - the main down town shopping area - there were two big poster ads for the MGA on a bus shelter. I was so excited I wanted to scream out on the street - "THAT'S WHAT I HAVE!!" Needless to say I kept quiet - I didn't want to get thrown in jail or the loony bin, but it was nice to see. I did take a picture on my phone and stand there staring at the ad for about 15 mins. Lots of people were looking at it and reading some of the info. My only criticism would be that the pictures they had on the ad showed a lot of ptosis, so much that the people almost looked disfigured. I would have liked if they had a "healthy, normal" looking person too, because when I look "normal" but feel rough I always feel akward, like I'm faking my symptoms or something.

Good news from my doctor too, I can reduce my steriods further and maybe even eventually come off them competely (depending how stable I keep). Also she is going to refer me to a new neurologist that is much closer to me so I don't have to travel for 2 hours to see someone! Things have been great and I'm feeling really positive about everything right now. Even have a new teaching job starting soon (high school - support for learning, behaviour problems and complex needs).

Hope everyone else is as great - I'm thinking about you all the time!

You go girl! I am so happy for you!!!!!!! I laughed so hard when I read that you didn't want to get thrown in the loony bin - I know that feeling! I have to mentally calm myself down sometimes - not easy since I started on the steroids:D!!!!!!!

I hope you are steroid FREE very soon!

Take care

I got a chuckle out of the thought of that sight too! It would be nice to see a normal person on the signs...
I'm a teacher too though now I'm not teaching as much. I've moved out of the elementary classroom to being the school secretary. I still teach computer classes and am the yearbook advisor. Keeping up with 2nd graders (7 year olds) was proving to be just a little too much.

Hey Erin,
I took a photo, but only on my phone and I'm not sure how I could send that. My husband and I will probably be in Edinburgh over the next week or so though, so if the ads are still up I'll take a photo for sure!
Talk to you soon!

Take care!

If it's on your cell phone you should be able to click on options, then send and it should ask if you want to send to a phone or email. If so you could send it to yourself and then post it here.

Kudos on the doctors appointment and thanks for the laugh about not wanting to go to the loony bin. :D

Thanks for that Sandy. I'm not sure this worked - but I'll give it a shot. The picture isn't the best - I didn't think I was taking it to show anyone. If the signs are still up next time I'm Edinburgh I'll take a better picture - maybe with the castle in the background if I can manage it.
All the best!
~Kathy

Cool! Yea, I agree the faces look a little distorted. That guy in the back kind of looks like Nicholous Cage. :D

Very cool to see. Thanks.
