The Dark Place
 

why can't I escape this dark place
it's killing my heart and soul
all I see is carnage and waste
and ghosts from so long ago

this pain I feel will never leave
my spirit's too badly scarred
all I want is a little release
and it's driving me quietly mad

I hate this false smile on my face
public pretense, happy and whole
the truth is I suck, I'm a disgrace
and this feeling will never go
