My intro :)

I posted my intro. under General- introductions, but I thought I would post it here too since my situation pertains more to this area...Thanks in advance for taking the time to read it! :)

I wanted to introduce myself. My name is Jinna I am a 30 yo. married stay at home mother of 3. I am coming here because a few weeks ago while riding on the back of my husbands motorcycle which I have done many times, I began to have what appeared to be a seziure, I started Jerking back un controllably but did not lose consiousness & could still respond & everything. We were going down the interstate...we were going about 65 mph. & it was bright out & I forgot to bring my sun glasses. I am not sure if the conditions brought on this seziure. After this happened my husband pulled to the side of the rode & then we got of the interstate & went back home & I was fine after we got off the interstate, but I still felt an anxious feeling in my chest and stomach I felt numb & tingly. I have been diagnosed with anxiety shortly before the incident & get panick attacks and I was given ativan for that, which I have only taken a couple times. Another thing I have is photosensitvity, ever since I was young, while I was riding in a car and there was sunlight shining through trees & we passed by them I would twitch from the irregular light patterens, it was just a brief twitch and I would only twitch maybe once or twice depending on the condition & felt normal afterwards, & I still get the same thing today, what I experienced on the motorcycle seemed similar but it was a continuous jerking rather then a brief twitch, also after the incident I have been feeling more nervouse & dizzy, & feel like I am going to faint at times, almost like I am not getting enough oxygen to my brain. I am not sure if all of these things are realted, but I am on here to try and hopefully get some answers & hope to find people on here that can relate. I am schedualed to go to the Neurologist Oct. 15th so I am hoping to get more answers then. I also forgot to mention I did go to the hospital after the incident & had a catscan & everything came back normal & the Dr said it seemed I had an A typical seziure & needed to see an Neurologist for further evaluation, so thats my story.... I hope to find some answers through meeting you all & I look foward to hearing about all of you.

Hi Jinna :) Welcome aboard.

I was in my 40s when I started having weird "spells" that woke me up right after I went to sleep and then started happening during the day too.
SCARY!!!
That was before computers and we were in a very remote, rural area ..... I did not receive good medical care even after I had the first terrifying grand mal seizure that started epilepsy for me .... Nov. 1, 1990.

The "aura" feelings I used to get signaling a seizure starting sound like your
"anxious feeling in my chest and stomach I felt numb & tingly".
Lots of time people just have an aura or a simple partial.

Right now keep a written record of any odd feelings you get .... anything that happens that you think is "out of whack" or something. The neuro you see will be glad to have a record like that.

Other members of this community will be by to welcome you and talk. Ask any questions you want or need.

Hi Jinna,
Welcome to the forum! I've had seizures for 36 yrs. and just like you I'm photosensitive. My neuro did a special e.e.g. on me where the flashed different color storbe lights one at a time and they found that the colors florescent green, amber, and bright white like when the sun shines on the snow trigger seizures for me. What you are descibing when you get the nervous feeling in your stomach is known as a simple partial seizure also known as an aura seizure. The jerking around and being aware of what's happening could possibly be the start of a myoclonic seizure especially if it happened not to long after you had just woke up. I've found that taking vitamin B12 1000 mcg. a day to be a big help reducing my seizures. Also keep a log of your possible seizures by writing down what time they happen along with a description of the possible seizure. Write all this down on a calendar along with when you start and stop your monthly cycle because sometimes hormonal changes can cause some women to have seizures 7-10 days before their period and then again after their period. This happens because the estrogen level gets high causing excitment while the progesterone level gets low and progesterone calms the nerves. Stress and lack of sleep are the 2 main things that can trigger a seizure for a person. If you're interested check out these website to learn more about seizures.

Here's wishing you the best of luck and May God Bless You!
