Editting photographs

I've been learning how to edit my own photos as well as pictures downloaded from the Internet.

I think I have the basics under control, and I've recently learnt how to add my own words to a picture http://i146.photobucket.com/albums/r...ero123/bow.gif ..... thank you Mwah ... but what I'd like to do next is alter the picture around.....eg. removing bits, or adding to... the picture that I've chosen.

It seems that Photoshop does that, but is there a free program that anyone uses that does the same thing?

Thank you!

awwwww...it was nothing, Anne...you did it all by yourself! :)

universally...

to add another photo to your current photo would be done in "layers"

to remove spots from your photos, you can use that eraser looking thing and then use "clone" tool.

then there are lasso tools and other tools and :thud:

I wish I had more time to get good at it...

SandyC is really good with these things, her merging of DM to that firefighter

is probably done by "lassoing" DM's photo and then adding that to the fireman's photo.

Then, she probably used "clone" and "erase" (or Stamp tool) to clean it up around the borders.

I could do that but not as seamless as she did it. So I'd like to know how to do those better as well....

and thanks Jo for always finding us all the free stuff to play with...:D

:grouphug:

Errrr, thank you Mwah.....I think!

It all sounds double Dutch or Swahili or similar at the moment, but thank you Jo for those webites.....I'll go check them out.

I do thank you Mwah! I wouldn't be up to this stage without your help.

I think I may need to message Sandy very soon!
