Need To Vent

I have no proof, but am pretty certain the reason Scott didn't get one of the main roles in the school play is because of his tourettes... i've not mentioned my suspicions to him and i'm not going to, but a couple of the parts, which are minor parts, but have solos, were given to kids that just cant sing.... i'm confused by that.... Scott has mentioned several times he is a much better singer than one of those boys and has even commented that he has been working with him on learning his part... it makes me angry... i think they are worried about him twitching on stage. i'll hush..... i just needed to vent a bit... its hard to watch your child mistreated. Like i said, i have no proof just suspect it.... if i knew for sure i'd be up there in a heartbeat complaining to his choir director... ANYWAY i need to get my daughter to school and myself to work. {{{{HUGS}}}}

:( awww vicky, i'm sorry. :hug:

lil'monkey had her first performance of the year last night. she was first told that she couldn't even audition for a solo because she doesn't take private voice lessons from the school. :eek: yep, i made a few calls. the vocal coaches they have suck. she did get the solo.

i pray they aren't using scott's ts against him for this. beyond wrong.

I feel bad for him, I never even got to audition for our school play but because I wasn't pushy like some of the others.

Why don't you ask the school why he didn't get a part? See what they say and then discuss your concerns openly. If nothing else it will ensure he is treated fairly in the future and give you a little piece of mind.

((((((((((Vicky & Scott))))))))))))))))

I sure hope they arent using TS against him and I too would ask outright. It's illegal to discriminate against people for a disability and TS is covered under American's with Disability act

extra :hug: cos I sure know how you are feeling:mad::(

Hi...:)
I sure hope your suspicions aren't right. I agree that it might be an idea to go and ask them directly.

Making them aware that you're on the case might make them rethink how they go about things.

It sort of reminds me of what China did in the olympic games opening... picking the prettier girl to be on display while using the "less prettier" girl's voice. What a load of rubbish that was!!!:mad: I saw the picture of that other little girl and she was gorgeous. And so what if she wasn't? This stuff goes on way too much.

:hug:

Take care,
Lyn.

my son continues to amaze me.... he came home from play practice yesterday and asked me why i thought he didn't get the role of the mayor... (they're doing a dr seuss play) There is no dancing (which he cant do very well), and not alot of lines and a nice solo which he really was wanting to do. i just smiled and asked him why he thought he didn't get it... he said because he didn't do well on memorizing his speech when he auditioned. He basically didn't memorize it and ad libd it..... AND he said i'm sure my tourettes has something to do with it... i guess they are afraid i'll start making funny noises on the stage... THEN he said..... but thats ok.... i'll show them... i'll make the best "who" (the part he got with several others) .... the best who up on that stage then they'll regret not giving me a bigger part...... he has such a good attitude.... MUCH better than his mothers.... my son is so awesome and never ceases to amaze me.... i can learn alot from him.....:hug:

Good on him!!!!:)

That's a great attitude. I'm sure he WILL show them too.:D

As with anything, a positive attitude can get you through. {yes we can all learn from our kids there!! lol}

Hopefully though the main reason was because he didn't memorise the lines.

We just want to protect our kids from everything, don't we?

Let us know how it goes. How long til the play?

Lyn.
