Does colds and flu affect your PN ?
Just over two years ago now I started suffering with numb toes and feet. At the same time my GP found my liver function was bad and diagnosed PN caused by vitamin deficiency. I was drinking about double the recommended limits at the time. I stopped drinking completely for several months, liver function improved and the PN symptoms went away.
Since then they come back for days or weeks at a time whenever I have a cold or virus. Stress seems to make them worse too. For the last few weeks I've had a cold type virus and the symptoms have been much worse than before with numbness and tingling from toes up to the knees and for the first time burning sensations that are really painfull in my feet and ankles. Is it common for colds and flu to cause bouts of PN ? Also does this sound like some sort of progression of the condition ? Thanks in adance for any comments. |
First time I've heard of this one.
I seldom get colds, and get a flu shot every year. I think its due to the supplements I take for my PN of over 12 yrs now. If I do get a cold, I think my attention is focused on the cold sx. I've not noticed any increase in PN, other than I'm miserable, anyway. |
the last time
I was sick with flu, about 2 yrs ago, I had full body burning.
That was a first time for me. I blocked most of it with AlkaSeltzer. But yes, the PN which is most commonly in my feet and sometimes in my hands, was very bad with that flu. I don't get sick often, though, so I don't know if that will happen again. |
