How about YOU, Shappy?

I am good FG. I am a mile from the ocean but with the off shore breezes you walk outside and its an instant smokey air. The wind is expected to whip upto like upwards of 60 miles an hour which just makes it like a blowtorch out there in the burn areas. And the humidity level last time I saw it was like 9%. It sure is dangerous when the Santa Anna winds blow.

You think whats a little wind compared to hurricanes and tornadoes. BUt it can be just as devasting.

One poor soul was killed by the smoke on the highway apparently driving their car when it just got bad.

Its just so sad to see people's houses burn to the ground. :(:(:(

God Bless the fire and police peeps.

Wow...

That has to be one scary time! I hope you and the others here tough it out.

Up North, there is a small town about 1.5 miles away from us as the crow flies, and when they burn there (sometimes old birch wood from clearing old trees etc), I get asthma for DAYS after. Something in birch sets me off. It is the "only" pollution we have there.

I'll be sending positive safe thoughts for all of you!

Thank the Lord you're safe Shelley, and I do hope the others you mentioned drop by to let us know that they're safe.

Keeping all in the fire's path in my thoughts and prayers......:grouphug:

All is well here in Riverside fortunately.

My worries about the fires have been focused on my best friend who is a fire chief for the City of San Bernardino.

This strike team was deployed originally to one of the fires near Hansen Dam, but then he was diverted to the fires in San Bernardino where some idiot (or more than one idiot) has pyromania on their minds apparantly. They lost three massive warehouses and several other structures.

I hope that the Santa Ana winds decrease significantly so that this entire issue can be resolved.
