Red skin like a burn?
 

Hey guys! Haven`t been on for a while but always thinking and praying for everyone who is suffering with this mean ol` RSD. I was reading a few posts and people were discussing rashes. I have RSD, right arm only so far,(very lucky because nerve blocks were started right away) but also told, no guarantee it won`t spread. Anyway the pain meds and not using my arm too much help lower the pain level. Recently I have a red area on the right side of my face from under the side of my nose down.(in and around the line that you get when you get older(hate that word!) on either side of the mouth. Hard for me to describe the road map of my face, yikes, but I hope you have an idea of what I am talking about. I thought it was dry skin but I am beginning to wonder if it`s something more. I have been using a couple of different medications, (over the counter) kind of like Neosporin, on that line but it won`t go away. It burns as I am sitting here. I have put a moisturizer on it today in case it`s just dry skin. It`s pretty red though. Anybody have an idea if this might be RSD related? If so, I can discuss it with my 7TH! doctor I am going to see Monday, Oct.20. I have been waiting 2 months to get in. I am sure this is not new to anybody here.(the wait and change of Dr.`s). Any help would be so appreciated! I just love having more "stuff" to worry about. Thanks and love to all of you! Try to smile at least once today knowing we are here for eachother.

What I said in Ali's post is that a person should see a Dermotologist. I thought I was dealing with RSD leisons but my Derm. said it is Precancerous places. He has gotten rid of 2 of them but I have 2 more now. I see him again in Nov. He said that when a place won't go away then it needs to be looked at by a Dermotologist.

Mine are on my face and it's burned and itched. I finally went to see a Derm. about 2 months ago and I like him. He seems to know what he's doing.

Don't always assume that everything is from RSD.

I do hope you find the help you need on taking care of this.

I tried several things on my face and just made them worse so I have not put anything else on them.

Hi Franny and Adam, The face isn't the best location for anything is it. I have lumps under my skin that never go away, even with massage therapy. Dermatologist is a good idea. I will ask my neurologist next visit-They are sore to the touch, size of dime. For some reason I think they might be sinus areas, chin and both sides of check between nose and hairline.Thanks for the info Ada, Glad you got checked out. I'm going to do the same. Loretta

Thanks to both of you for your ideas. Turns out it was a good `ol case of dry skin! I moisturized the area to see what would happen and it helped. I really appreciate your concern and thanks for taking the time to respond. This is the best group of people ever and it`s so nice not to feel alone anymore!

Hi Franny, Happy to hear your face are wasn't the bad stuff. I live in Arizona, so dry skin is common and I moisturize regularly. Yes, this is a wonderful group. It helps so much to feel supported and understood. Learning from others has helped me so much, a lot in the mental adjustment of accepting RSD and trying to stay positive and look for all the good things in life. Today is the 35th anniversary of the death of my mother, I was 25 and grateful to have the last 4 months with her. She died with grace and dignity even during the unimaginable pain of end stage cancer. Take care of yourself, Loretta
