Dont you hate...

when you get up in the morning, and one of your arms or legs is asleep and doesnt wake up when you do?

I slept on my left arm last night. Woke up once and it was completely numb. Shook it out and it was awake for the most part. Went back to sleep for another couple of hours...woke up, and my left hand was numb again.

Not as bad as when I woke up earlier, but it's all tingly. I've been awake for about 20 minutes and my hand is still all tingly!

I hate it when it does this. Sometimes it'll take hours for the tinglies to go away. I want to knit and crochet now! I can do it, but my hand just feels weird!

ARGH!! Make it go away!!!! NOW!:mad::mad::mad:

Yep.....mine's been that way for over a year now. You get used to it.

It finally woke the rest of the way up, except for a spot on my index finger. It took till about 6 or 7pm for it to do that tho.

My neuro did an EMG on my arms about 6 months ago. Said it wasnt carpal tunnel, so it has to either be an MS thing, or I'm somehow putting pressure on my brachial plexus while I'm sleeping.

I was kind of wondering earlier today if it's some weird form of L'hermittes.

Amen to that Frank. My right hand is weak sometimes, and it's not funny when you drop hot things like pans of hot pasta for instance. I've learned to really concentrate when doing anything dangerous.

What really gripes me is the snoring. ;)

Ditto.

Erin, my experience with this is that it is permanent (or for as long as an attack), if it's related to MS. However, mine does get worse and better, depending on the way I sleep or sit (positional) . . . and my neuro did say that it was a l'hirmittes type symptom.

It doesn't just affect one arm though, it is always both arms and both feet, when it is "position" related (for me), and the sensation doesn't take several hours to go away (usually a few min, then it's back to normal tingling).

Like Kelly though, I always have the sensation, it's just worse after being in certain positions.

Try sleeping another way to see if that makes a difference . . .

Cherie

I thought about that, that it might be a L'hermittes symptom. I go to the neuro next week. I'm going to ask him about it then.
