too much pain

hi every one .i am a regular on another pain web site i use that one for my chronic back/leg pain .i had a mva /rta for our UK people! in 1996 since that i had an operation on my back at L4/L5 laminectomy ,after the operation i still had pain and morning stiffness in my lower back.last November 2007 i tried to get out of bed and feel to the floor in agony .my S1 had gone! so i spent week in hospital having another major operation.i had a bilateral discectomy at s1 and a revisit of the original operation at L4/L5 unfortunately i have been in terrible pain ever since.to compound matters i also have thoracic outlet syndrome and chrones diseases.on the plus side i am married to a lovely kind lady she is a nurse so my home life is very good.unfortunately i spend most of my day in my recliner in pain .i can't sleep for more than 3 hours because pain wakes me up.i have not been able to have sex for over 5 years because i have lost sensation in my genitals {sexually} not urinary incontinence thank god!..at the moment we are having a kitchen extension .so our house is like a building site!.i will be glad when its completed.to add to all this i am due a full colonoscopy next week !! .i would love to hear from others with tos of chronic back/leg pain . Sometimes a soft massage can help and heat/ice every 15 minutes. Stretching could help but you'd need to get out of that recliner! Most doctors can provide you with stretching material to follow on a daily basis. It definately helps those achy muscles. Maybe your recliner is adding to your pain...some do. The only other thing I can think of is if there is a pool close to you try going to the pool and just floating..it can help by reducing the pressure points in your body and the inflammation you probably have from trying to move around after sitting for so long. I hope this information helps you. PS I had a colonoscopy years ago and they are not as bad as people put on...you'll do fine!!
