Anyone try a Caudal Epidural Steriod Nerve Block?
I went to the Pain Management Center for the first time today, and they increased my Neurontin to 2400mg, prescribed Ultram and also want to schedule me for a nerve block. I have Pudendal Neuralgia. Has anyone had one of these types of nerve blocks, was it effective, and how long did it last to relieve the pain? Is it worthwhile or a temporary fix? thank you:)

yep
Hi Jess,
I've also had the Pudendal Neuropathy diagnosis (among other things). And yes I had the Caudal Injection. It did nothing for me but increase my pain. But everyone is different. Some people do respond to these injections. But I've had a lot of them (different ones) and none of them helped. Billye |
Thank you Billye. :) and I am sorry about the PN diagnosis as well.
Yes, right now I have also started physical therapy for pelvic floor dysfunction. My pelvic muscles are very tight and we are working on loosening them. it is possible that the tight muscles may have impinged on or irritated the pudendal nerve. So I think I am going to go the med and PT route first, and then if need be nerve blocks... I haven't heard a ton of great things about the nerve blocks from people and the thing that concerned me was the nurse in the Pain Managment office told me that some patients go in for them like a scheduled haircut. ( that cant be good ) thank you for your input. Jess:) |
