I thought this might be simple, but it's not (flood damage diagnosis)

Ok, so you all know I woke to a small flood in my house last week. Well they began tearing into my walls today and found "extensive biologicals in the walls" so two walls are coming down, the master bathroom is being torn apart, and that is just the start....CALGON TAKE ME AWAY!!!!

Pic's to come.

Erin524 10-28-2008 08:02 PM

What exactly does "biologicals" mean??

and why am I creeped out by the thought of something biological inside walls?

NurseNancy 10-28-2008 09:15 PM

that's terrible earl.
do you have insurance?
and who's doing the work?

FranksAngel 10-28-2008 09:18 PM

earl ... science projects are suppose to be kept in the frig NOT your walls ...

anyone for penicillin ...

all jokes aside ... i hope you're able to clean up the mess soon ... is insurance going to cover the cost?

TwoKidsTwoCats 10-28-2008 09:42 PM

My poor neighbors are going through this too!

Thing is they just bought this house 5 months ago. The entire master bathroom is being gutted due to "extensive biologicals" in the walls and subflooring.

Earl, I hope your project gets done fast without too much stress on you .

Riverwild 10-28-2008 11:37 PM

Man, I'd hate for them to culture my bathroom!:eek:

We'd be quarantined for sure!
They wouldn't even have to go in the walls!

Do you have mold coverage on your homeowners policy? That should cover most of the work ( or at least that is what they told me when it was added to my policy!)

Sorry to hear you are living in a construction zone!

Hey! Maybe that COLD weather you are having will kill the "biologicals":D

weegot5kiz 10-29-2008 02:42 AM

hope the repairs are quick, Earl what was the reason for the flood, was it a bad shut off value or bad pipes?

AfterMyNap 10-29-2008 09:04 AM

Bummer, dude! This is beginning to sound like the money pit, let's hope they can round up the little critters quickly and let you get back to... to... get to do... uh... start some... finish... um... whatever the heck you do all day!

Ditto, Earl.

But exactly what is it that you do do all day?

Wait! I think I just answered my own question.:p

SandyC 10-29-2008 10:34 AM

Earl, sorry to hear this. I hope they get it fixed fast and without too much pocket pulling.
