Rhonda
Hello I was browsing around and this really got my attention. My daughter is 7 and was also born with a dimple on her lower back dr's told me to wait and see how she did when she was a teen everything was okay nothing touched her spine thank God. I am curious if the dimple can grown into her spine??

Help me Rhonda! Help! Help me Rhonda!
Sorry, I just couldn't resist. :o Spina bifida isn't something I know anything about. Other than I think the same blood clot that can cause that deformity is also thought to cause Gastroschisis (hole in the skin of the abdomen). I guess it just depends what stage of development it strikes. My grandson was born with that. Welcome to NeuroTalk, Rhonda! Glad you found us. Be patient for a bit and I bet someone will come along and answer your question. Hugs to you and your daughter. |

I think you are talking about a sacral dimple. You can do a web search and find lots of information. They aren't usually a problem. Good hygiene to avoid an infection is important. My daughter has one and is in her 30s without having any problems.
