Fenugreek or Bitter Melon question
Hi all, has anyone tried either of these for helping to reduce elavated blood sugar levels ? and if so in what amounts [ mg's] i mean, i am asking this for a friend that is diabetic 2 and is not reaching goal targets just using Metformin, exercise & low carb diet, this person has tried cinamon & R lipioc acid supplements with no success unfortunatly.
appreciate any help thanks Brian :) |
I would try first...
Chromium. There is a new version called chromium polynicotinate (200mcg daily) which is better absorbed. But the regular picolinate (400mcg daily) is still around.
Also... pabb posted just a day or two ago about curcumin. It is on page 1 here. I sure wish the medical community would figure out the culprit that causes insulin resistance, which then leads to type II diabetes. Instead of waiting til it happens, and treating with drugs. |
Thanks Mrs D, apparently the regular chromium picolinate has been tried as well but only for 6 weeks so far, i can recall reading somewhere were it said that the chromium must be taken for at least 3 months before any benefits can be shown, of course i don't know how true this is, the newer version sounds interesting though.
As well as pabb's great link about curcumin i also googled a lot of interesting info about it as well, it does look very promissing. thanks again Brian :) |

Hi. I've been sprouting Fenugreek for a week now. It sprouts just fine and I put it in my salads. Nice and crunchy. My sugar is just fine so thank goodness for that. Melody |
