Chlorine= tic trigger?

I haven't been here in forever. I'll have to bookmark the address to this site, I had lost it.

I know I'm a little off-season to ask this, but... my son's tics get a lot worse in the summer... someone just mentioned to me that chlorine is a major tic trigger in some kids. Seems like my son may be one of them. Anyone else notice this?

Dawn

(I'll have to fix my sig, because Hannah is 7 1/2, Anthony is 5 1/2 and Jayson is 3 1/2)... that shows I haven't been here in a while!!)

Hi dawn

sorry I havent replied before but have been mega busy re work....

chlorine is a major tic trigger for my son and he stopped swimming some years back because of it plus we use special water filters and also avoid bleach or any other chlorinated stuff (including splenda/sucralose!!!)

chlorine is on the list of tic triggers here too

Hi Dawn

I too found that chlorine was a tic trigger for my son. Matthew. However, we have been to an advanced allergy elimination clinic (similar to NEATS which I have read about on this website). They use muscle strength testing to find allergies/intolerances and then treat the intolerance via a massage technicqe. It has been wonderful for us and now Matthew goes in the swimming pool with no adverse reaction.

This allergy elimination clinic has been brilliant and now the tics have almost gone.

kind regards
Sarah
