Nervous about Thanksgiving

I called a childhood friend whom I use to babysit when I was a young teen and she invited to her place for Thanksgiving. There will be a lot of people there and it is making me nervous. I accepted because I thought it would be nice but I'm scared to death. I've been in my own little world around my apartment complex for the past 2 years and before that an even smaller world. I need to do this though to get use to the the outside world.

any chance you could invite her over for coffee to chat?
meet some of her family before hand......
I too get nervous before social situations...I will usually say that I am not feeling well so I may have to leave early jsut incase I get really wiggy and have to leave.
This is very nice of her to invite you...you can always change your mind and not go...it is your choice and we are allowed to change our minds.
really!

Thank you Bizi. This lady stays busy as she has 3 kids, a grandkid, a hubby, and takes care of her mom. I really doubt the thing about the coffee. It would not be bad but she doesn't live close by. I think I will do okay and can always say I don't feel good to go home early. I hope to bring my camera to give me something to do also.

This sounds good Barbara

I think it will be nice to go to a Thanksgiving dinner... and the camera will take away some of the social tension and give you another "focus" no pun intended... and indeed your pix are sure to be welcome by your hostess :)

i do hope you go and have a wonderful time. but like Bizi says, you're in charge... you can always change your mind about going, and if you feel awkward, you can say you don't feel well and leave early... you always have an out. but hopefully it will turn out great for you.

Thank you Waves. I'm starting to feel more comfortable about it. I plan to make a cocconut pie to take.
