How NOT to approach a dog!
This is the first full video I've seen of poor Barney, the White House dog, biting that reporter. I wonder if this reporter even gets what he did? Notice how fast he approaches Barney, and then he quickly bends over to pet him. Not just that, but Barney is surrounded by reporters talking to him.
. Bruna still can't be approached quickly by anybody. She's getting better with my grandson, but kids especially can be very disquieting for her with their vitality and speed, LOL. This is good info on how to properly approach someone's dog! . |
how old is Barney?
Barney is 8 yrs old.
He appeared confused in that video...like he couldn't tell where sounds were coming from. I think he is old and sick. He walks funny too. I never try to pet other people's dogs...I just don't think it is a good idea! |
In the video it looks like the person in charge of the dog didn't care either way about the dog or correcting him or preventing the attack:confused:
You should be aware of your animal & the situation to anticipate things like this happening. Of course in this situation the guy handling the dog must have wanted a few minutes of fame - but to me it shows poor judgment by the handler more than anything. no proper collar either - isn't there a leash law in most cities?? I didn't notice if they were actually on the grounds of the W house or not seems irresponsible for them to not have any collar on the dog. |
I didn't even notice the collar. Yes the handler is holding on to the opposite end of the leash with the clasp on it. Looks like the leash was looped around his neck through the leash handle. It looks like the White House grounds to me.
Poor little Barney. Maybe the guy got a bit of a tongue lashing from Mr. Bush. |
