muscle desease/CRPS

I am realizing that so many of us are in excruciating pain. Reaching out to you gives me motivation and hope because I do not feel alone in this. My Story. May 2007, I was involved in an auto accident and sustained injuries to my head, left eye, neck/shoulder, knee and legs. My short term memory was also affected. Since September 2007, I have been in desperate pain, Progressing from my left leg to both legs, to my shoulders and arms. My world is falling apart. My body, bones, and muscle always ache. One Orthopedic doctor DX CRPS and prescribed cymbalta amd it has helped. The pain persists and I am still seeing many doctors, i.e. Orthopedic, Neurologists, eye specialists, Rhumatologist, pain management specialist. I just developed imflamatory muscle desease, based on blood tests. My doctor feels that the RSD is affecting my body, as it is affecting my blood pressure. He is not an expert on the subject. I feel I need to do something. I eat well, I take supplements. I started to do yoga because It is to painful to exercise. Any one with inflamatory muscle desease due to RSD? Looking forwards to your response.
In support,
dominicana

Hello dominicana,

Did you find our RSD forum already?
http://neurotalk.psychcentral.com/forum21.html

You mentioned injury to your head, neck and shoulder also... Have you read any information about Thoracic outlet syndrome {TOS}?
you might want to read a bit about that if you aren't sure of your RSD diagnosis.

This useful sticky has info on both conditions and various treatments -

Hello and Welcome to NeuroTalk - you will meet many great and supportive people here!!

I am so sorry to hear about everything that you have and are going through . I also suffer from RSD, I have it in my left leg and right arm, I developed it when I was 12 years old, I am now 13.

If you need anything, please just ask, I for one, know how scary it can be dealing with this condition.

Take care and I look forward to seeing you around the forum soon!!

Alison
