New Stephen King book
Not sure if there are any Stephen King fans out there, but he has a new book "Just After Sunset". It is a collection of short stories, his first since Everything's Eventual.
I bought the collector's set book which also came with a DVD where Stephen King introduces the original video series in 25 parts for one of the stories ("N") in the book. I am so happy to add this to my collection. Now I can't wait to read the book and see the DVD! |
I like him but once the books are made into movies is what I'll watch. The collection book though sounds like something nice to give to a fan of his.

The last one I read awhile back was Dreamcatcher. Short stories might be more manageable, but I just don't know, lol.

He's an aquired taste. LOL. I love his earlier works and some of his newer books are so long they get confusing to me! So that is what makes the short stories nicer. I am the opposite of you befuddled2. I would prefer to read the book than watch the movie. Unless he wrote the screen play. Then I'll watch the movie!

I'm a big fan of Stephen King's older books. I haven't cared for any of his newer books that I tried to read. So, I re-read his old ones.
Just After Sunset sounds interesting, though. :) |
I finished this latest collection of short stories. Very much like his older work and very enjoyable. The bonus collection DVD is awesome. Go to "Nishere.com". Stephen King talks about his new book, the story "N." and you can see episodes of the DVD "N."

Let us know what you think of *Sunset*. I can't wait to get my hands on that!
I've read everything King has written so far except Lisey's Story and this one. Azoyizes, you might like *Cell*. That's a lot like his older stuff, I thought. And *From a Buick*. I totally loved Duma Key, very visual. |
barinbegone - Sunset was a great collection of short stories. I definitely recommend it as a good read. You should also read Lisey's Story. A very unusual type of book for King to write but very good.

I read and reread The Stand - enjoyed his earlier books - what he writes now I can't get into - the only movies that were made from his books worth my time were The Shining, The Shawshank Redemption and The Green Mile - otherwise my imagination is much more vivid then anything Hollywood can do - they could never do the clown in the sewer - also don't care for his recent diatribes - so he's off my list -
